Embodiments of the present invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to wiring components in a component based application and provide a method, system and computer program product for heuristically assembling components in a component based application. In one embodiment, a data processing system configured to assemble component based applications can include a component aggregation application including an application builder configured to assemble components into a component based application. The system further can include a property broker coupled to the component aggregation application and configured to apply a wiring scheme to selected components in a component based application. Finally, a collaborative heuristic integration matching engine (CHIME) can be coupled to the property broker and a data store of behaviorally derived data, the CHIME including program enabled to suggest components for assembly in a component based application based upon behaviorally derived data in the data store.

A method for autonomic group decision making may include presenting a plurality of decision options and receiving at least one decision option selected by each decision maker. A decision result may be presented including an indication of the preference for each option. Each decision maker may be allowed to revise the previously selected option for convergence to a single decision option for the group. An impedance score is determined for each decision maker in response to a decision maker selecting a different decision option. The impedance score may be based on one or more actions by the decision maker regarding selecting the decision option. A level of the impedance score indicates either progress toward or away from convergence. The impedance score may be revised each time a revised option is selected. The single decision option may be presented in response to the decision makers converging on the single decision option.

A system, method and program product for managing concurrent editing in a collaborative editing environment includes a step of a computer receiving an input to edit an electronic document from a first editor through a first user interface. Responsive to receiving an input to edit an electronic document, the computer tracks a cursor within the electronic document associated with the first editor. The computer locks content of the electronic document within a predetermined proximity of the cursor associated with the first user interface to prevent access to the content of the electronic document within the predetermined proximity of the cursor by one or more second editors. Responsive to the cursor associated with the first editor moving to a new location within the electronic document, the computer unlocks content no longer in the predetermined proximity of the cursor associated with the first editor.

Method, apparatus, and computer program products for estimating, scheduling, and tracking preparatory work associated with electronic meeting invitations. When a meeting invitation is received and tentatively accepted, preparation time for associated work is estimated programmatically from characteristics of documents associated with the meeting invitation. A floating block of time is created, subject to the constraint that it must be completed before the meeting convenes, and added to the user's electronic calendar.

Under the present invention, an enterprise application and corresponding client properties file is provided on a mobile device. Upon initiation of the mobile device, the client properties file is read into application memory. The user can then make modifications to the client properties file to change the user settings as he/she desires. If an updated properties file is later received from the server, it is reconciled with the client properties file. Thus, the user's modifications are not discarded or overwritten. In addition, the reconciled properties file could be synchronized to the server so that if the mobile device is lost or fails, the user's settings can be restored.

A method, system, and computer program product for autonomically managing a meeting calendar. An Autonomic Meeting Scheduling (AMS) utility detects a set of pre-scheduling data. The AMS utility generates an optimal meeting schedule based upon the set of pre-scheduling data. A meeting invitation is communicated to at least one meeting invitee. The AMS utility detects an invitation reply data from a meeting invitee. Based upon the pre-scheduling data and the invitation reply data, the AMS utility generates and outputs one of at least a meeting probability value (MPV) and a MPV curve. The MPV is a measure of how probable a scheduled meeting will occur. Moreover, a meeting owner may enable the AMS utility to determine whether the MPV has reached a threshold to execute a scheduling decision (i.e., retain a scheduled meeting, reschedule a meeting, or cancel/extinguish a scheduled meeting).

Context-specific instant messaging is presented. A user views a page of data that is segmented into regions. The user performs a user action (e.g., a mouse click) and, in turn, a message generator displays context-specific phrases for the user to select based upon the region that the user action was performed and a corresponding object type. When a region corresponds to a meeting time, a context-specific phrase may also be time-sensitive. When a region corresponds to meeting participants, a context-specific phrase may include recipient identifiers. The user selects one of the context-specific phrases, and the message generator invokes a message session between the user and a recipient based upon the selected context-specific phrase. The message generator includes a link to the corresponding object such that the message recipient may easily identify the context of the message.

A user interface template that implements a task pattern for a model class and a model adapter that provides an interface for the application that conforms to the model class are identified. A user interface for the application is created from the identified user interface template and the identified model adapter. The user interface template may include a generic view and a generic controller. The model adapter may provide a business object interface, and may be configured to communicate with the application via a J2EE Connector Architecture (JCA) connector. The user interface template may define an abstract portlet, and creating a user interface includes creating a portlet instance that communicates with the application via the model adapter. The portlet instance may be configured using an application portlet builder portlet. The portlet builder may also identify the user interface template and the model adapter.

The present invention provides a method, system, and computer program product for creating navigation views based on historical user behavior. The method comprises: tracking pages navigated by a user through a site to provide tracking data; generating a complete site view displaying all pages in the site; generating a reduced site view based on the tracking data and at least one filtering parameter, wherein the reduced site view displays a set of the pages navigated by the user, filtered by the at least one filtering parameter; and creating a custom navigation view based on the reduced site view.
