According to examples, an apparatus may include a wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) module including a WDM housing having a WDM front panel and a WDM component housed within the WDM housing. The apparatus may also include an optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR)/switch module integrated with the WDM module, the OTDR/switch module including an OTDR housing having an OTDR front panel and an OTDR/switch component housed within the OTDR housing. The WDM housing may be connectable with the OTDR housing to cause respective side edges of the WDM front panel and the OTDR front panel to be adjacent to each other when the WDM housing is connected to the OTDR housing.

Apparatuses integrating separate WDM modules and OTDR/switch modules

The present disclosure relates to a process by which an optical fiber drop cable is created and routed in a multiple dwelling unit ('MDU'). The optical fiber drop cable is formed with a feeding tool, and the optical fiber drop cable includes a tube having optical fibers enclosed within the tube. The feeding tool creates a slit within the tube through which optical fibers are fed and thereby inserted into the tube along the tube's length. Once the tube exits the feeding tool with the optical fibers enclosed (thereby forming the optical fiber drop cable), the optical fiber drop cable is then routed into an individual dwelling unit of the MDU by a transition assembly including a transition plug and a routing plug that leads an optical fiber from an exterior of the individual dwelling unit to a subscriber termination point in an interior of the individual dwelling unit.

Multifiber invisible optical drop cable and methods for routing optical fibers within a multi-dwelling unit

A fiber optic connection device having a casing with a first end and a second end is disclosed. An optical splitter is positioned in the casing and has an input proximal to the first end of the casing and an output proximal to the second end of the casing. A first optical interface is located adjacent to the first end and is in optical communication with the input of the optical splitter. The first optical interface includes a first optical fiber interconnection point. A second optical interface is located adjacent the second end of the casing and is in optical communication with the output of the optical splitter. The second optical interface includes a second optical fiber interconnection point. In some embodiments, the casing may provide protection from environmental elements.
