Embodiments are directed to a blood pressure measurement device that includes a strap configured to couple the blood pressure measurement device to a user, an air pump coupled to the strap and having a housing defining a surface facing the user, and an inflatable chamber positioned on the surface of the air pump and fluidly coupled to the air pump. The inflatable chamber can be positioned between the air pump and the user when the blood pressure measurement device is worn by the user and expand towards the user when inflated. The blood pressure measurement device can also include a pressure sensing chamber coupled to the inflatable chamber and positioned between the inflatable chamber and the user when the blood pressure measurement device is worn by the user. The pressure sensing chamber can include a liquid volume and a pressure sensing device configured to detect a pressure of the liquid volume.

A biometric input system for an electronic device is provided. The biometric input system may be a fingerprint sensing system. The biometric input system includes a biometric sensing component, which may be a capacitive sensing component. The biometric input system also includes a composite cover element, which may be a dielectric cap or coating, and the biometric sensing component is capable of receiving a biometric input from a user through the composite cover element. Electronic devices including the biometric input system are also provided.

An electronic device can include a housing defining an internal volume and a pressure sensor assembly disposed in the internal volume and in communication with an ambient environment. The pressure sensor assembly can include a structure at least partially enclosing a sensor volume, a pressure sensor affixed to a die disposed in the sensor volume, and an exposed moisture detection conductor positioned in the sensor volume.

Apparatuses and methods for creating a sensor stack or element for use in an electronic device. In one example, a method may include providing a substrate made of sapphire; affixing, by physical vapor deposition, a decorative feature on the substrate; providing a silicon layer including a capacitive sensor; and bonding the sensor to the substrate. In one example, the affixing operation may include an icon, logo, symbol or other graphic as the decorative feature. The method may also include reducing the substrate or silicon layer from an initial thickness to a second thickness, the second thickness being thinner that the initiation thickness. The sensor stack may be used or configured as an input button for the electronic device such as a mobile phone, tablet computer, or other computing device.

An underground storage tank riser assembly comprises a riser member and at least one riser alignment spacer assembly. The riser member comprises an inferior riser end and an outer riser surface. The outer riser surface at the inferior riser end comprises a plurality of paired, optionally color-coded, curvilinear score indicia. The curvilinear score indicia enable a user to remove paired inferior end portions from the inferior riser end for forming a tank-engaging, saddle-shaped mouth at the inferior riser end. The saddle-shaped mouth comprises a vertical riser radius of curvature substantially equal in magnitude to a determinable tank radius of curvature. The saddle-shaped mouth is engageable with an outer tank surface in radial adjacency to a conduit extending therefrom. The riser alignment spacer assembly functions to center the riser member relative to the conduit.

A matter-isolating system for use in combination with an underground storage tank assembly comprises primary and secondary spillage containment assemblies and a double-walled manhole assembly. The manhole assembly comprises a manhole lid, an outer skirt wall, and an inner skirt wall. The inner skirt wall defines an inner manhole cavity and an outer manhole channel. The outer manhole channel directs moisture from the lid to certain backfill material thus isolating the inner manhole cavity from channel-directed moisture. The spillage containment assemblies form concentric primary and secondary spillage-containing chambers in radial adjacency to a tank access conduit of the underground tank assembly. The inner manhole cavity functions to isolate the secondary spillage containment chamber from the outer manhole channel and the primary spillage containment chamber isolates the secondary spillage containment chamber from the tank access conduit. A chamber-monitoring system may be incorporated into the system for monitoring the isolated chambers.
