A drain protector having a flexible adsorbent pad, a raised insert, and a cover is described. The pad and the insert each includes aligned apertures. The raised insert is positioned over the flexible adsorbent pad or within the aperture of the flexible adsorbent pad. The cover is connected to the flexible adsorbent pad, a raised insert, forming a space over the insert. The drain protector is made from adsorbent material for blocking sediment, collecting contaminants and filtering water into a drain. The cover of the drain protector reinforces the sheet and insert to protect against damage from traffic over the drain protector.

Drain protector

A system, method for forming, and a method of manufacturing a boom for the containment of contaminants is disclosed. The boom includes a cover and an adsorbent or absorbent material disposed within the cover. The adsorbent or absorbent material may be formed of one or more sheets of flexible fabric folded upon itself to form a convoluted structure within the elongated cover. Additionally, the material disposed within the elongated cover may form a non-cylindrical cross-section. The material may be at least partially a polyester material.

Adsorbent boom for the containment of contaminant spills

A system, method for forming, and a method of manufacturing a boom for the containment of contaminants, wherein the system includes a cover and an adsorbent material disposed within the cover. The adsorbent material may be formed of at least one sheet of flexible, adsorbent fabric folded upon itself within the elongated cover. Additionally, the adsorbent material disposed within the elongated cover may form a non-cylindrical cross-section, and the flexible, adsorbent fabric forming the adsorbent material may be at least partially a polyester material.

A protective cover for drains and other holes is provided which prevents spills and unwanted liquids from flowing therein. The protective cover includes a durable backing layer and a pliable, tacky sealing layer adjacent a portion of the durable backing layer which conforms and adheres to a surface surrounding the drain to reduce or eliminate the flow of liquids into the drain. The pliable, tacky sealing layer can have a periphery inside the periphery of the durable backing layer.

Protective cover for preventing spilled liquids from flowing into drains or holes

An extendible drain closure device has a plurality of telescoped hollow tubular members. The outermost hollow tubular member is a main body which has a base portion sized to seat down into a drain opening and an upper flange having a recessed portion. The main body is sized such that the upper flange is flush with the top of the drain opening. Multiple hollow tubular members are positioned within the main body in a telescopically operative manner with the innermost hollow tubular member having a stop ring which seats into the recessed portion of the flange. The top of the extendible drain closure device is thus flush with the top of the drain opening when the device is in a telescopically retracted position. A handle, which can be hinged so that it lies flat when not in use, is provided on the stop ring which may grasped and pulled upwardly to deploy the extendible drain closure device in a telescopically extended position. Each of the multiple hollow tubular members can be provided with a seal ring disposed in an annular groove provided in the outer surface near the bottom opening of each member. In a telescopically extended position, the sealing ring is compressed against the inner surface of an adjacent surrounding hollow tubular member to form a liquid barrier therebetween. A means for releasably maintaining the extendible drain closure device in a telescopically extended position is also provided.

Extendible drain closure device

A device for building a berm to contain and absorb a leak or spill has a plurality of corner members each having an elongated member spaced there between. The elongated members are formed from a pliable strip having a vinyl housing. The housing has a hollow center provided longitudinally therein which is filled with an absorbent material such as an absorbent sock or mat. Openings are provided in the elongated members along the side of the housing nearer the spill or leak. The elongated members are sized and cut at the workplace to form a berm of sufficient size to meet the present spill containment problem. Once the side members and corner members have been selected and arranged, they are secured to the building floor by a caulking compound. Strapping material can then be applied, if necessary, to seal the joints between the corner members and the side members of the berm.
