An implant for insertion within a maxillofacial bone of a patient including a tapered body and one or more threads formed along the body. The one or more threads on one or more lead threads include multiple thread forms including both three-dimensional stabilization thread and standard thread (e.g. v-thread, buttress thread, etc.) forms. The one or more threads including the multiple thread forms provides for maximizing the restriction of lateral movement of the implant within a full or partial osteotomy.

Methods and apparatuses are shown for selectively capturing a targeted animal that are directed to capturing an animal in a capture module having a one way capture mechanism and, using instructions executing in a controller, sensing the animal in an identification module and, responsive thereto, capturing an image of the animal, analyzing the captured image to identify whether the animal is a targeted animal, if the animal is the targeted animal, processing the animal, and releasing the animal. Additional examples involve performing chromatic or pattern analysis on the captured image, using the chromatic or patent analysis results, searching a database for machine recognized animal colors or patterns, generating a probabilistic assessment based on color or pattern of whether the animal in the identification module is the targeted animal, and generating a target determination indication based on the probabilistic assessment based on color or pattern. Processing the animal may include injecting the animal using a syringe.

Method and apparatus for automated animal trapping

Shown is a method and apparatus for a location sensitive database system. The database system includes a geographic positioning receiver, such as a global positioning system (GPS), and a database processor that receive the location values output by the positioning receiver. The database processor is coupled to a content database and searches the content database responsive to the current location values output by the positioning receiver. Database entries can also be obtained by the database processor sending a content query, which includes the current location values, over a wireless network link to a content server, which searches its own database for entries corresponding to the current location values and, if a matching entry is found, sends the content of the matching entry to the database processor for output to a user. Database entries can also be screened for a match on a user preference selected by a user of the device and based on the current time. The information in the database entries can take a variety of forms including audio and video data. The present system can be adapted to collect data on the user's movements and to collect for developing database content.
