A tire having a radial carcass reinforcement, made up of a single layer of reinforcing elements anchored in each of the beads by being turned up around a bead wire, reinforced by a stiffener. The two working crown layers are the only ones present to form the crown reinforcement over at least 75% of the width of the tread, the absolute value of the difference between the absolute values of the angles α2 and α1 being greater than 7°, α2 being greater than α1 in terms of absolute value, the mean angle α satisfying the relationship 13+131*exp(−L/)<α<28+110*exp(−L/), the reinforcing elements of the carcass reinforcement being cords which, in the test referred to as the permeability test, yield a flow rate of less than 20 cm/min, a rubber compound being present within the cords, and, in the sidewall of the tire, the profile of the outer surface of the tire is at a constant distance from the carcass reinforcement layer between the points F and A, and meets the outer surface of the bead at the point C, forming two successive circular arcs.

Tire tread () is divided into central part () and edge parts (), central part () having width Lc between 40% and 90% of total width W of the tread. Edge parts () do not have any transverse cuts. Central part () has a tread pattern with circumferentially oriented sipe () and transversely oriented sipes () distributed around the periphery of the tread, such sipes having a depth at least equal to 60% of thickness E of material to be worn away and being interconnected to form a network. Such sipes are continued by hidden channels (). Central part () is delimited axially by transverse sipes (), each of which ends in end channel () that opens onto tread surface () and extends into the thickness of the tread, and each end channel () is connected to the network formed by the hidden channels.

The tread has main grooves that delimit a central region of a width comprised between 15 and 25% of a total width W and that define the wearable thickness of the tread. The tread also has lateral regions on each side of the central region, and the lateral regions are divided into raised elements. The elongate elements are delimited by oblique secondary grooves which are inclined by a mean angle of between 35 degrees and 55 degrees with respect to the circumferential direction and have a depth Pwhich is between 30% and 60% of the depth P. Each elongate raised element has an oblique cut which divides the element into two elongate element halves, and each oblique cut is formed by a sipe extended by an internal canal. The internal canal forms a new groove once the tread is partially worn before the oblique secondary grooves completely disappear.
