Systems and methods are provided for controlling device retry behavior. The method is performed by receiving an error code generated in response to a resource request from the wireless device, associating the error code with a timeframe for resending the resource request from the wireless device, and sending the error code and the timeframe to the wireless device in response to the resource request.

Method and system for optimizing device retry behavior

Systems and methods are provided for managing updates to user devices, and in particular, SIM-based OTA updates. In some cases, SIMOTA updates need to be made while a user device has a cellular connection (e.g., 4G/LTE, 5G). As such, an instruction is transmitted to the user devices that need a SIM-based update but that currently have a non-cellular connection. The instruction is for the user devices to deregister from the non-cellular connection and to reregister using a cellular connection. An indication is received that at least a portion of those user devices now currently have a cellular connection. The SIM-based updates are then transmitted to those user devices.

Systems and methods are provided for controlling device retry behavior. The method is performed by receiving an error code generated in response to a resource request from the wireless device, associating the error code with a timeframe for reseeding the resource request from the wireless device, and sending the error code and the timeframe to the wireless device in response to the resource request.

A Short Message Service Center (SMSC) receives a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) message transferred User Equipment (UE). The SIP message has a Private Access Network Information (PANI) header with geographic data for the UE and also has a Short Message Service (SMS) message from the UE. The SMSC determines when a destination code from the SMS message indicates an emergency SMS message. When the emergency SMS message is indicated, the SMSC transfers an emergency Short Message Peer-to-Peer (SMPP) message for delivery to a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) gateway. The emergency SMPP message has the geographic data for the UE and also has the emergency SMS message. The PSAP gateway selects a PSAP for the UE based on the geographic data in the SMPP message and transfers the emergency SMS message to the selected PSAP.

Disclosed herein is a mechanism for dynamically varying the process of selecting cell sites to broadcast an alert message. The mechanism involves using the type or other characteristic of the alert message as a basis to choose a particular cell-site selection process or level of precision for defining cell site coverage. For example, given one type of alert message, a particular cell-site selection process and/or level of precision may be used to determine the cell sites in the target area, and given another type of alert message, a different cell-site selection process and/or level of precision may be used to determine the cell sites in the target area.

Embodiments relate to suppressing Short Message Service (SMS) communications from a Short Message peer-to-peer (SMPP) client. A selected response algorithm is provided to the SMPP client from a server. A threshold of undesired SMS communications are detected from a SPAM originator that is communicated to the server by way of the SMPP client. A challenge is communicated to the SMPP client from the server. When a challenge response is not received at the server, communications received from the SMPP client are throttled. When the challenge response is received at the server and the challenge response is incorrect, communications received from the SMPP client are also throttled. When the received challenge response is correct, a SPAM originator source identifier is communicated to the SMPP client in order for the SMPP client to throttle communications received from the SPAM originator.

Suppression of short message service communications from a trusted domain

A method, system, and medium are provided for suppressing a Short Message Service (SMS) induced Denial of Service (DoS) attack on a telecommunications network. A register is updated to include information relevant to SMS messages that are requested to be communicated by way of a wireless telecommunications network. The register includes information of the location where the target devices of SMS messages are located. The register is utilized to detect an SMS induced DoS attack. A trigger is communicated to an SMS router to enable a DoS mode that restricts the communication of SMS messages. In an exemplary embodiment, only those SMS messages identified as part of the DoS attack are restricted.

Detection and suppression of short message service denial of service attacks

Embodiments of the present invention relate to systems, methods, and computer-storage media for suppressing Short Message Service (SMS) communications from a Short Message peer-to-peer (SMPP) client. A selected response algorithm is provided to the SMPP client from a server. A method, system, and computer readable medium are provided to retry delivery of a short message service (SMS) message to a user's wireless device. A message delivery failure notification is received that indicates a reason for failed delivery. An amount of traffic on an SMS message delivery network is determined. A message delivery retry profile is selected based on the amount of traffic. The reason for failed message delivery may also be used in selecting the retry profile. Time intervals between retry instances of the selected retry profile may be set based on the amount of network traffic. Delivery of the message is retried according to the selected retry profile and set time intervals. Selection of a retry profile based on the amount of network traffic may provide more adaptive and optimized utilization of SMS message delivery resources.

An authorization system is described that includes a first interface, a processing system, and a second interface. The first interface is configured to receive an authorization instruction from an enterprise and receive an authorization request from a user device. The authorization instructions indicate authorization parameters. The user device transfers the authorization request each time the application is selected for execution. The authorization instructions are based on a license obtained by the enterprise for an application and wherein a user device operated by a user has the application. The processing system is configured to process the authorization request and authorization parameters to determine if the execution of the application is authorized. The second interface is configured to transfer an authorized message to the user device if the execution of the application is authorized and transfer an unauthorized message to the user device if the execution of the application is not authorized.
