An auxiliary trip device for a circuit breaker which includes an electromechanical actuating device and an energy storage system. The electromechanical actuating device includes a coil housed in a sheath which has a central bore containing a plunger fixed to a push-rod, and a fixed core spaced apart from the plunger, via a first spring. The push-rod is slidable within the bore to actuate a latch device of the energy storage system, which in turn releases a blade which is cooperable with a trip bar of the circuit breaker on which the auxiliary trip device is placed. The blade is biased by a second spring which releases and stores energy greater than released and stored energy of the first spring.

Auxiliary trip device for a circuit breaker

A molded case circuit breaker includes standard compartments each designed to accommodate a standard auxiliary indication or control unit. Each compartment is assigned to a predetermined function, the control device associated with this compartment being connected to the corresponding components of the circuit breaker supplying the information relating to this function. Customization of the circuit breaker can be performed by the distributor or fitter who fits a standard auxiliary unit in the compartment or compartments.

Molded case circuit breaker with auxiliary contacts

A molded case circuit breaker with interchangeable trip units has on its front face a frame protruding out from the front panel of the circuit breaker, and surrounding the circuit breaker operating handle. The frame has a window in which the end of a bracket support is inserted fixedly secured to the trip unit, when the latter is in place. An inscription, notably of the rating of the trip unit, is borne by a face of the bracket support so as to be visible at all times, even when a front protection plate covers the trip unit.

A limiting circuit breaker comprises an electrodynamic repulsion contact system, and an electromagnetic latch arranged in the vicinity of the contact system, and electrically insulated from the latter. Actuation of the latch to the active position results from the action of the electromagnetic field due to a short-circuit current flowing in the pole, so as to temporarily keep the movable contact open after repulsion. The latch is equipped with a pair of ferromagnetic brackets, and with a spring blade to return to an inactive position.

Limiting circuit breaker equipped with an electromagnetic effect contact

A high voltage self-blowing circuit breaker with closing resistors is equipped with an auxiliary contact inserted in the trip control circuit of an electrical circuit breaker. The auxiliary contact is actuated by the mechanical control rod of the circuit breaker, in such a way as to prevent any operator closing error. A high-speed mechanism is inserted in the link system connecting the control rod and the auxiliary contact, with a dead travel mechanism to delay closing of the auxiliary contact when a closing operation takes place and to prevent a tripping order, liable to cause a flashover on the inserter contacts and damage to the circuit breaker, from being transmitted too early.
