A method is provided for forming a wireless charging electronic device. An embodiment of the method includes integrating a coil and a collector plate to a chassis of the electronic device to wirelessly charge the electronic device.

Integration of wireless charging coil to a chassis

This disclosure pertains to wireless power transfer systems, and in particular (but not exclusively), to techniques to improve the coupling efficiency between a power transmitting unit and a power receiving unit within a computing device. The present disclosure includes a system which comprises a computing unit which includes a power receiving unit and a conductive surface. The conductive surface has an opening that is adjacent to the power receiving unit and a slot extending from the opening towards the perimeter of the conductive surface. The computing unit further includes a system base coupled to the power receiving unit wherein the power receiving unit is to provide power to the system base. The system also includes a power transmitting unit adjacent to the computing unit.

Chassis design for wireless-charging coil integration for computing systems

A computing device includes a charging coil for producing a charging current when placed in a magnetic field of a wireless power transmitter. A wireless charging operating frequency is associated with wireless charging of a battery of the computing device by the charging coil and the wireless power transmitter. An electrically conductive substrate has a plurality of gaps for reducing eddy currents when the electrically conductive substrate is disposed between the charging coil and the wireless power transmitter during charging of the battery. A plurality of filters each electrically bridge a respective one of the gaps. Each filter attenuates signals within a range of frequencies including the wireless charging operating frequency.

In one embodiment, a system and method pertain to measuring the length of media using a first sensing system of the printing device to obtain a first length value, measuring the length of the media using a second sensing system of the printing device to obtain a second length value, and calculating a scale factor that can be applied to measurements made by the first sensing system to increase the accuracy of those measurements, wherein the scale factor is calculated relative to the first and second length values.

Systems and methods for determining media size

An interlock enables power to a computer component to be disconnected prior to removal of the component from an access port. Actuation of a latch enables an operator to move the interlock away from the access port of a computer housing. Movement of the interlock away from a computer housing removes communication of the interlock with a power switch of the associated access port and thereby removes power to the associated access port. In addition, movement of the interlock away from the housing enables an operator to remove and/or place a component in the access port. Similarly, proper placement of the interlock in front of the access port places the interlock in communication with a power switch of the associated access port and provides power to the associated access port, and prevents actuation of an ejection lever of the access port.
