A cardiac activity measurement assembly for a sports equipment handle and the handle is disclosed, wherein the assembly includes an optical cardiac activity sensor configured to measure cardiac activity of a user, and an attachment element for floatingly attaching the optical cardiac activity sensor to a handle of sports equipment in order to reduce pressure on a measuring head of the sensor caused by a skin contact between the measuring head and at least one finger or a palm of the user when gripping the handle.

The present document discloses a solution for estimating blood pulse wave characteristics by using multiple measurement locations of a human body. According to an aspect, a method includes detecting, in a first measurement signal measured by a first heart activity sensor associated with a first location of a human body, a first occurrence of a blood pulse wave; detecting, in a second measurement signal measured by a second heart activity sensor from a second location of the human body different from the first location, a second occurrence of the blood pulse wave; estimating, on the basis of said detections synchronized to a common clock, time characteristics of the blood pulse wave; and computing, on the basis of said time characteristics, a metric representing a physiological condition of the human body.

A method of performing clock synchronization between two apparatuses includes storing, in a first apparatus, information representing synchronization accuracy required by at least one function of the apparatus; carrying out, by the first apparatus, a service discovery procedure with a second apparatus, and receiving clock information from the second apparatus during the service discovery procedure; determining, by the first apparatus on the basis of the received clock information and said stored information, whether or not synchronization accuracy is sufficient for the at least one function; and upon determining that the synchronization accuracy is sufficient for the at least one function, synchronizing a clock of the first apparatus with a clock of the second apparatus.
