Systems and methods for preparing a bone for a surgical procedure are provided. In general, the described techniques use a surgical guide device including a cannula having first and second parallel elongate channels adjacent to one another, and first and second elongate sleeves configured to be removably and replaceably received in the first and second channels, respectively. The first sleeve has a plurality of openings formed therein, each being in communication with a respective wire-receiving lumen extending through the first sleeve. Each of the openings defines a different offset distance between the wire-receiving lumen in communication with that opening and a wire-receiving lumen extending through the second sleeve. The surgical device can be manipulated so as to define positions of first and second openings in a bone, such as a glenoid or other bone, to receive bone screws or other elements for attaching a bone graft to the bone.

Methods and systems for preparing bone for a surgical procedure

Meniscus refixation system

A suture anchor method including a suture anchor and a suture anchor drive. The suture anchor is positionable on a rod of the suture anchor drive. The rod defines an awl for forming a hole in a bone. The suture anchor drive further has an impactor for moving the suture anchor along the rod between a retracted position and an advanced position so as to implant the suture anchor in the bone with the awl positioned in the bone.

The invention concerns a bone plate system comprising: a bone fastening element comprising a shaft with a first thread, the fastening element further comprising a head with a second thread on its outer surface, the outer surface having a first hardness; and a bone plate having a second hardness which is smaller than the first hardness, the bone plate comprising a through hole for receiving the bone fastening element. The invention concerns a bone plate system comprising: a bone fastening element comprising a shaft with a first thread with a first lead length, the fastening element further comprising a head with a second thread on its outer surface, the second thread having a second lead length, the outer surface having a first hardness; and a bone plate with a second hardness which is smaller than the first hardness, the bone plate comprising a non-threaded through hole in a non-assembled state for receiving the bone fastening element, the hole comprising a first hole portion with a first three-dimensional shape and a second hole portion with a second, different three-dimensional shape. The first lead length substantially equals the second lead length, and the second thread is arranged to irreversible deform the wall of the hole to form a female thread on the wall.

Variable angle bone plate system

A compression screw comprising a threaded shaft and a head associated with the proximal end of the shaft. The head has a plurality of outwardly extending projections spaced from one another so as to define a plurality of recesses there between for receiving a screw drive in such a way that rotational force may be transferred from the screw drive to the screw. The projections of the head may be provided with suture fixation holes or a suture coupling may be positioned over the shaft so as to extend between the projections of the head.

Compression screw system

Device for bone fixation

A soft tissue fixation assembly includes a plurality of deformable bone anchors and a suture that is configured to fixedly attach to each of the bone anchors. One or more of the bone anchors can be inserted into a bone, and one or more of the bone anchors can be inserted through soft tissue and into the bone. The suture can be inserted through the bone anchors, and energy can be applied to the anchors, thereby causing a deformable material of the bone anchors to deform, thereby capturing the strand of suture in the bone anchor. The strand of suture can be placed in tension, and can extend over the soft tissue so as to retain the soft tissue in contact with the bone.

Soft tissue fixation system

Devices, systems, and methods are generally provided for guiding surgical devices into a desired location and orientation in a bone. In general, the devices can include an elongate guide, a sleeve having an inner lumen therethrough for seating the guide, and a locking mechanism configured to lock a position of the guide with respect to the sleeve. The guide can have a distal, bone-engaging portion that can be laterally offset from an intermediate portion of the guide by a predetermined distance and that can extend distally beyond the sleeve to contact a bony structure. The guide can thus orient and stabilize the sleeve at the predetermined distance from the bony structure to provide for the delivery of one or more surgical devices through the sleeve and into the bone at a desired location and orientation, without requiring a surgeon to actually view the surgical site.

Systems, devices, and methods for guiding surgical devices into bone

Methods and devices for positioning and securing ligament grafts are provided. In general, the devices and methods utilize an implant having a particular outer surface profile and a bone tunnel having a complementary profile to provide a form fit between the implant and bone that utilizes friction to position and secure a ligament graft within the bone. Such an implant can be used in conjunction with a variety of ligament grafts, including hamstring ligament grafts. In addition, an 'outside in' approach can be utilized with the implant to minimize the risk of damaging adjacent tissue during an operation and provide enhanced surgeon control. The devices and methods can be utilized in connection with repairing or replacing ligaments in a variety of joints, but can in some embodiments have particular utility in cruciate ligament reconstruction procedures.

Methods and devices for positioning and securing ligament grafts

A surgical implant for fixing a soft tissue to a bone comprising a staple and a plate. The staple and the plate are positionable on an instrument in such a way that the plate may be manipulated with the instrument to hold the soft tissue against the bone and in such a way that the staple is fixable to the bone with the plate positioned between a bridge of the staple and the soft tissue when legs of the staple are driven through the plate and into the bone.
