A building management system includes a controller that is configured to provide a natural language interaction on a remote user interface via an I/O port and to receive one or more building management requests from one or more users as well as to ascertain whether the received one or more building management requests can be carried out by the building management system. The one or more building system components of the building are instructed to carry out the received one or more building management requests unless one or more building management requests cannot be carried out, in which case one or more natural language messages on the remote user interface via the I/O port that informs the user that one or more of the building management requests cannot be carried out.

The controller may be configured to obtain an entity name for a device, extract a core name from the entity name, compare the core name to candidate core names, determine scores for each comparison, identify a highest score, identify a class of a candidate core name, and classify the device in the class.

An approach and mechanism relative to a license that is forced or locked to a particular localization. Forcing a license of a product to be localized may be effected with an attribute specifying the locale or language of a particular region, area, or country. The lock-to-locale region or area may be set and thus force a use of localization settings, lexicon files and resources of the particular region, area or country. A hash or code may be developed and embedded as a value of an attribute on the lock-to-locale feature. The hash or code on the files installed may be validated by matching it with the hash or code securely stored within the license file to ensure that the localization files for the region or area have not been tampered with or changed.

Mechanism and approach to lock a license to a given localization

The disclosure relates generally to wireless sensor devices, and more particularly, to remote programming of wireless sensor devices. A wireless sensor device wirelessly may receive messages from a remotely located device to a wireless sensor device. The wireless sensor device may be programmed via the receive messages. In one example, a building controller may be programmed to wirelessly send one or more messages to a wireless sensor device in order to change the behavior of the wireless sensor device, even while the wireless sensor device and building controller are on-line and actively controlling a building control system. In some instances, a technician or installer may use a diagnostic or setup tool to send one or more messages to a wireless sensor device to change the behavior of the wireless sensor device. These are just some examples.

A system and method for displaying information on a display of a building control system. In one illustrative embodiment, a display controller is provided that includes a configuration mechanism for configuring the information that is to be displayed on the display. The configuration mechanism may include one or more user definable object description reference strings that include tokens that identify which device and/or object information to display on the display.
