Methods and apparatus for partitioned private interconnects to provider networks are described. At least a portion of available bandwidth of a private physical interconnect between a provider network and a connectivity intermediary's network is designated as the bandwidth limit of an interconnect partition set up on behalf of a customer at the request of the intermediary. The intermediary's network comprises one or more devices to which at least one of the customer's devices is connected. Access to one or more resources of the provider network via the interconnect is enabled. Traffic monitoring results associated with the interconnect are used to enforce the designated bandwidth limit of the partition.

Partitioned private interconnects to provider networks

Techniques are disclosed for determining a possible cause of a problem in a computer system. A trouble-shooting component of the computer system may perform forward chaining on the available data to determine one or more hypotheses of the cause of the problem. The component may then perform backward chaining on the hypotheses to determine missing information that, if known, would increase or decrease the likelihood of the hypotheses being true. Then, the component may perform Bayesian probability analysis on the known and missing information to determine a probability that each hypothesis is correct.

Logical inference expert system for network trouble-shooting

Methods and apparatus for pre-configured virtual gateways for isolated virtual networks are described. An isolated virtual network (IVN) is configured at a provider network on behalf of a customer. The IVN includes one or more devices whose network addresses are not accessible from the public Internet. In response to a request from a connectivity intermediary, a virtual private gateway (VPG) is established, configurable to enable connectivity between IVNs of the provider network and devices outside the provider network. The VPG is included within a set of candidate VPGs indicated programmatically to the customer. Connectivity is established between the customer's IVN and an external device via the VPG.

Pre-configured virtual gateways for isolated virtual networks

A portable device is brought into a data center for testing connectivity between a customer and a service provider. A user of the device uses the device to requests ticket and customer information from a service provider in order to obtain more information about a particular task. The user plugs a cable into the device and performs a series of diagnostic tests on the connection. The device is configured to display the results of the diagnostic tests and any associated errors. The user of the device performs one or more actions based on the results of the diagnostic tests.

Methods and apparatus for automated multi-party cloud connectivity provisioning are disclosed. A system includes resources of a provider network, and a connectivity coordinator. The coordinator collects network service offering metadata of a plurality of connectivity providers using a first set of programmatic interfaces. In response to a connectivity query specifying connectivity parameters, the coordinator identifies, using at least a portion of the metadata, a collection of one or more connectivity providers of the plurality of connectivity providers capable of providing connectivity between a client network and a provider network endpoint in accordance with the connectivity parameters. In response to a connectivity establishment request, the coordinator initiates, using another programmatic interface, an activation of a network connection between the client network and a selected provider network endpoint.

Automated multi-party cloud connectivity provisioning

User actions for configuring a computing environment may be recorded and converted to a workflow definition. A translation layer may be associated with the workflow definition and invoked to perform actions described by the workflow by utilizing one or more application programming interfaces. The translation layer may adapt to application programming interface idiosyncrasies by translating state transitions, including asynchronous to synchronous state transitions and synchronous to asynchronous state transitions.

Data payloads that may not be accessible to customer computing devices may be utilized to verify network address ownership. In some examples, a first payload may be provided to a computing device having an address. Additionally, a second payload may be received from the computing device. A provider network may implement providing router information according to a programmatic interface. A plurality of routers may be implemented as part of provider network. Clients that utilize these routers may wish to obtain information specific to one or more routers in order to configure communications utilizing the particular router. A request may be received for the information from the client that is formatted according to the programmatic interface that is platform-independent. The requests may be maintained along with other received requests until selected for servicing according to a priority scheme. The request may be translated into one or more versions of the request that are formatted according to a interfaces specific to the one or more routers. The translated one or more versions of the request may be sent to the one or more routers to obtain the information from the one or more routers. The information may then be provided to the client.
