A top-engaging carrier includes a top panel and a sloping shoulder panel hinged to the top panel by a first fold line. The first fold line is interrupted by at least two curved cut lines such that by folding the shoulder panel about the first fold line, an article-engaging edge is defined by each of the at least two curved cut lines. The shoulder panel includes a stress-reducing second fold line extending alongside at least a part of the first fold line.

Carton and carton blank

Aspects of the disclosure relate to a carrier () for packaging a plurality of flanged articles, a blank () for forming the carrier. The carrier comprises a composite wall formed from two at least partially overlapping layers (), including an inner layer () and an outer layer (). The carrier further comprises a keel structure () folded into an interior of the carrier. The keel structure has an inner member () formed from the inner layer and an outer member () formed from the outer layer. The inner and outer members are hingedly connected to a respective one of the inner and outer layers along inner () and outer () fold lines respectively. The inner and outer fold lines are generally aligned in the direction of the thickness of the inner and outer layers.

Carton and blank therefor

A top-engaging carrier includes a top panel () and a sloping shoulder panel () hinged to the top panel by a first fold line (). The first fold line is interrupted by at least two curved cut lines () such that by folding the shoulder panel about the first fold line, an article-engaging edge is defined by each of the at least two curved cut lines. The shoulder panel includes a stress-reducing second fold line () extending alongside at least a part of the first fold line.

Aspects of the disclosure relate to a carton for packaging one or more articles, a blank for forming the carton and a method of packaging articles. The carton comprises a plurality of panels forming walls of a tubular structure including a top wall, a first side wall, a base wall, and a second side wall. An end closure structure at least partially closes an end of the tubular structure. The end closure structure includes: a top end closure flap having a handle opening forming a carrying handle; a side end closure flap coupled to one of the first and second side walls; and a web panel interconnecting the top end closure flap to the side end closure flap. The web panel is hingedly connected to the top end closure flap and is hingedly connected to the side end closure flap along a fold line.

A carton () for packaging one or more articles (B) includes a plurality of walls including atop wall (), a bottom wall (), at least two vertical walls () and a curved corner () between the vertical walls. An internal buttress structure () adjacent the top wall provides a curved support edge located apart from the top wall and providing a support edge for the curved corner. A handle strap () may be provided in the top wall.

Aspects of the disclosure relate to a carton for packaging one or more articles, a blank for forming the carton and a method of packaging articles. The carton comprises a plurality of panels forming walls of a tubular structure including a top wall, a first side wall, a base wall, and a second side wall. An end closure structure at least partially closes an end of the tubular structure. The end closure structure includes: a top end closure flap having a handle flap which defines at least in part a handle opening in the top end closure flap for forming a carrying handle; a side end closure flap coupled to one of the first and second side walls; wherein the side end closure flap comprises a portion which underlies the handle flap when both the top and side end flaps are folded into an end-closing position.

A package includes a carton () and one or more articles (A). The carton includes a top panel (), a base panel (), a first side wall () and a second side wall (). The first side wall includes at least one tab () hingedly connected thereto. The at least one tab is configured to provide a support structure for facilitating stacking of the carton. The at least one tab has a lower edge in contact with an upper surface of an article and includes an upper edge in contact with an inner surface of the top panel of the carton so as to support the top panel of the carton above the upper surface of the article.

A composite package includes a preliminary package () and a carrying handle structure (). The preliminary package includes a group of articles (C), contained and secured together as a unit by a wrapping film () disposed around the group. The carrying handle structure () is wrapped around the preliminary package and is provided with at least one foldable tab () that is forcibly pushed and folded inwardly of the carrying handle structure such that the wrapping film is punctured and at least part of the at least one foldable tab is disposed within the preliminary package for interlocking the carrying handle structure to the preliminary package.

Composite package with handle

A carton for a group of bottles arranged in rows is of substantially tubular structure comprising a bottom panel (), a first side panel (), a top panel (), a second side wall panel () and end closure panels for at least partially closing the ends of the carton. The carton has an access means, integrally formed in the carton walls and is defined by a weakened line of severance (). The access means provides a means for accessing the bottles contained within the carton while providing means for retaining the articles to prevent them from being inadvertently dislodged. The access means being formed so that the carton can be oriented to sit on either its bottom panel or the second side panel while articles are accessed via an opening in the first side wall panel.

Carton for multiple articles

A carton for dispensing articles having a dispensing feature is adapted for restraining articles within the carton until the consumer desires to remove the endmost articles from the carton. To erect the carton, a plurality of panels are connected together to define an end of the carton. A first detachable portion at the end of the carton may be detached from the carton to define an opening for dispensing articles from an upper or lower row of articles within the carton. A second detachable portion at the end of the carton borders the first detachable portion and may also be detached from the carton to enlarge the opening in an alternative embodiment. The second detachable portion restrains articles in an upper row of articles prior to detaching the second detachable portion from the erected carton.

Dispenser with detachable retention feature

A carton for dispensing and retaining articles such as cans or bottles is opened by at least partially removing a first detachable portion and then by at least partially detaching a second detachable portion. Removal of the first detachable portion defines an opening for dispensing articles, and defines means for retaining articles in the carton after one or both of the detachable portions have been removed, such as a stopper wall. Removal of the first detachable portion provides access to the second detachable portion to facilitate subsequent and at least partial detachment thereof. The second detachable portion may be yieldable so as to variably and reversibly redefine or reconfigure the opening to enlarge the opening to facilitate removal of articles that are being dispensed, and to reduce the opening to retain articles in the carton that are not being dispensed.

A carton for holding a plurality of articles, comprises a top wall, a base wall, opposed side walls and opposed end walls. A divider structure for separating adjacent articles is formed from at least one of the end walls. The divider structure includes first and second inwardly folded divider panels and an inwardly folded support panel. The divider panels are hinged together and to the opposed side walls respectively while the support panel is hinged to and extending between the respective lower portions of the first and second divider panels.

Fully enclosed carton and blank

A carton having a dispensing feature adapted for permitting the removal of articles from within the carton. To erect the carton, a plurality of panels are connected together to define an end of the carton. At least one removable portion is provided in the erected carton and is defined by an endless tear line. The endless tear line includes multiple portions defined in the top wall, one side wall, and end flaps extending from the top wall and the one side wall.
