A method for detecting settle-down time in a space includes acquiring a sequence of frames capturing a select space from a first camera. The method includes determining an initial time for computing a duration it takes for an associated occupant to settle into a seat in the select space. The method includes determining one or more candidate frames from the sequence of frames where one or both of a sitting behavior and seat occupancy is observed at the seat. The method includes determining a final frame and a final time associated with the final frame from the one or more candidate frames. The method includes computing the settle-down time using the initial and the final times.

System and method for detecting settle down time using computer vision techniques

Methods and systems begin when a printing device receives a print job. The methods and systems identify a document type within the print job using a processor of the printing device. The methods and systems also determine if the document type requires an audible alarm using the processor. The methods and systems print the print job using a printing engine of the printing device. If the document type requires the audible alarm, the methods and systems produce an audible alarm using a speaker of the printing device after the printing is complete.

A system automatically determines whether to shrink a document to be printed by determining whether various parameters of the final page of the document satisfy certain criteria. If so, the system may automatically shrink the document by using a shrink-to-fit process and/or by automatically reducing the font size of some or all content in the document.

A system and method are provided for automatically generating an inspiration board. The system and method involves inputting at least one term into a computer system. Based on the inputted term, at least one image is selected from a database of images stored in the computer system and at least one pattern from a database of patterns stored in the computer system. A system for performing a print job request includes a processor, a printing device, and a computer-readable storage medium in communication with the processor. The computer-readable storage medium includes one or more programming instructions for receiving a print job request having a first set of one or more printing parameters, identifying a final page of the print job request, determining a measurement for the final page through the processor, determining a threshold measurement through the processor based on a second set of one or more printing parameters, determining through the processor whether to remove the final page from the print job request based on the measurement and the threshold measurement, removing the final page from the print job request in response, and performing the print job request through the printing device to yield a printed document. The print job request pertains to information displayed on a web site.

Method and system for reducing materials usage associated with document printing

A user of a computerized device creates an item capable of being printed and stores the item within storage of the computerized device. An instruction to perform delayed printing of the item is received from a user of a computerized device when the user is outside a predetermined physical range of at least one printing device. The computerized device detects when the computerized device is within the predetermined physical range of the printing device and, when this occurs, the computerized device provides the user a printing option to print the item on the printing device. If the user selects the printing option, the methods herein forward the item to a conversion device. The conversion device makes the item print ready so that the item can be printed using the printing device. The methods herein then cause the item to be forwarded from the conversion device to the printing device and printed on the printing device.

A simplified user interface for an image database management system is described. The interface provides a menu driven system for generating a search query. A remote server generates a result containing images that satisfy the search parameters in the query. The interface then displays the images in the result as simulated slides. A user organizes the simulated slides for a presentation by manipulating the simulated slides. The slides may be manipulated on a simulated light table or by placing the slides in a simulated slide carousel. The slides may be freely transferred among the light table, slide sleeve, and slide carousel. Handling images as simulated slides on equipment familiar to the user substantially reduces the time needed to learn how to use the user interface.
