A method for producing a sandwich panel with a reinforced foam core includes inserting rod-shaped, thermoplastic reinforcing elements into a thermoplastic foam material such that the reinforcing elements extend through the foam material. End regions of the reinforcing elements project out of the foam material. The foam material is thermoformed to form a reinforced foam core, wherein the end regions of the reinforcing elements are integrally formed by applying temperature and pressure to the cover surfaces of the foam material and are bonded to the foam material in a fused connection. A thermoplastic cover layer is laminated on either side by applying temperature and pressure to the reinforced foam core on the cover surfaces of the foam material in order to form the sandwich panel, wherein the cover layers are bonded to the reinforced foam core in a fused connection.

Method for producing a sandwich panel comprising a reinforced foam core

A sandwich component has a first cover layer, a second cover layer, and a core disposed therebetween. In the sandwich component, the cover layers are each formed from an outer layer made of a fiber-reinforced thermoplast material having greater resistance to a certain solvent and, fused therewith, an inner layer made of a thermoplast material having lower resistance to the solvent. The core has outer layers, each of which is formed from a thermoplast material having lower resistance to the solvent, and an inner structure, which is formed entirely or partially from a thermoplast material having greater resistance to the solvent. The inner layers of the cover layers were each fused with one of the outer layers of the core with the use of the solvent.

Sandwich component and method for producing a sandwich component

A sandwich component and method of producing the sandwich component are provided wherein the sandwich component has a first cover layer, a second cover layer, and a core disposed therebetween. In the sandwich component, the cover layers are each formed from an outer layer made of a fiber-reinforced high-melting-point thermoplast material and, fused therewith, an inner layer made of a low-melting-point thermoplast material. The core has outer layers, each of which is formed from a low-melting-point thermoplast material, and an inner structure, which is formed entirely or partially from a high-melting-point thermoplast material. The inner layers of the cover layers were each fused with one of the outer layers of the core.

Cyanate ester/aryl ethynyl polyimide resins for composite materials

A method for the manufacture of reinforced core composites, comprises: inserting of a pin into a foamed core material or a filled honeycomb-shaped core material, wherein the pin and the core material contain a thermoplastic polymer, or a mixture of thermoplastic polymers; the pin is heated such that as the pin is inserted the core material softens or melts at the point of insertion; and/or the core material is heated at the point of insertion such that the core material softens or melts.

The present invention relates to a method of fabricating a composite part presenting an integral structure of composite material comprising at least one reinforcing layer based on reinforcing fibers, fabrics, or textiles, and at least one impregnation matrix, the method consisting in assembling the integral structure, in placing said integral structure in a mold, in impregnating said integral structure with the impregnation matrix by injection or infusion, and in solidifying said impregnated integral structure by raising it to a determined temperature, the method being characterized in that it consists in: using at least two distinct primary parts for making up the integral structure; placing a thermoplastic sheet on at least one of the primary parts so as to make the interface between said primary parts once they are assembled together.
