An exercise device includes an elongate padded base upon which an exerciser reclines on his or her side to perform leg lifts. An 'L'-shaped resistance bar is pivotally mounted to a side edge of the base, and includes a cross bar part that extends transversely with respect to the longitudinal axis of the base. The cross bar is positioned in longitudinally spaced apart relation to a foot end of the base so that the exerciser performs leg lifts by placing an ankle beneath the cross bar and alternately raising and lowering the cross bar against a resistance. The resistance may be set at differing levels by setting a pair of handles in a number of differing combinations of settings. Each handle is independently connected to a coiled spring and each handle has a plurality of resistance settings. The exerciser can therefore set the resistance at different levels by selecting unique handle positions.

The present invention relates to dialkyl ({[3-(alkoxy-carbonyl)-1,4-dihydro-4-oxo-8-quinolinyl]amino}methylene)-pro panedioates having the following structural formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is lower alkyl; and R.sub.2 is hydrogen, halogen, lower alkyl or nitro. These compounds exhibit antibacterial activity against gram positive and gram negative bacteria and are therefore useful in the treatment of bacterial infections caused by these organisms.

1-Substituted-2-(2-pyridinyl)ethanone N-oxides

The present invention relates to compounds of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen, halogen, hydroxy, lower alkoxy or lower alkyl, R.sub.2 is hydrogen or lower alkyl; R.sub.3 is hydrogen or lower alkyl. These compounds, including their corresponding pharmaceutically acceptable salts, are useful in the management of allergic conditions such as hay fever and as a prophylactic in the treatment of bronchial asthma.

Substituted 3-(2-pyridinyl)-4(1H)-quinolinone N-oxides having the formula I: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen, halogen, lower alkyl, hydroxy or alkoxy; R.sub.2 is hydrogen or lower alkyl; R.sub.3 is hydrogen or --CH.sub.2 OH; the dotted line indicates the possible presence of a double bond at the 2,3-position of the quinoline ring; the pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof; and a process for the preparation thereof, are described. The compounds of the invention are useful for the treatment of hyperacidity and for the prevention of allergic and asthmatic reactions.

The present invention relates to 4,10-dihydro-4,10-dioxo-1H-1-benzopyrano[3,2-b]pyridine-3-carboxylic acids, salts and esters having the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen, lower alkyl, halogen, hydroxy or lower alkoxy; R.sub.2 is hydrogen, aralkyl or lower alkyl; R.sub.3 is hydrogen or lower alkyl and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts. These compounds are indicated in the management of allergic conditions such as bronchial asthma, hay fever and the like.
