This invention relates to a method for determining a map of expectation and/or of variance of height of liquid hydrocarbon in a geological model. The method allows analytical resolution of these maps while taking account of the uncertainties in the variables allowing this calculation such as the porosity or oil saturation of the rock and also the uncertainty in the presence of certain types of facies given by the apportionment cubes of architectural elements p(c) and proportion cubes for each facies, these proportions then having a triangular distribution defined by the following three values p(c), p(c) and p(c). In particular, the method comprises the calculation of the sum of the plurality of architectural elements of p(c)&#xb7;&#x2153;(p(c)+p(c)+p(c)) and the determining of a value of expectation of height of liquid hydrocarbon for said column as a function of the sum determined.

The present invention relates to a method for determining at least one combined proportion cube. For each one of a plurality of facies, the determination involves receiving a reference proportion cube, said reference proportion cube having a first average proportion, and receiving an auxiliary proportion cube. Furthermore, for at least one of a plurality of facies, the determination comprises the modification of the auxiliary proportion cube, wherein the modified auxiliary proportion cube has a second average proportion, and the second average proportion is at a distance that is lower than a predetermined distance of the first average proportion and the combination of said reference proportion cube and said modified auxiliary proportion cube.

This invention relates to a method comprising a determination of a first group of facies as a function of the local values of proportion of the groups of facies for each mesh cell of the model. If said first group is among the first set of groups, the neighboring mesh cells are the current virgin mesh cells neighboring the set of connected mesh cells, otherwise they are the current virgin mesh cells neighboring mesh cells associated with a group. A second group is determined for each neighboring mesh cell as a function of the local values of proportion of the groups of facies for said current virgin mesh cell and if the second determined group of facies corresponds to the first group of facies, identification of said current virgin mesh cell as a candidate mesh cell.
