Containers are allocated to tenants in a multi-tenant container system in a SaaS environment. Resource usage by containers is monitored to determine one or more per-tenant resource metrics, where each container provides an isolated execution space dedicated to a corresponding tenant. Data storage may also be isolated for each tenant. Each tenant is allocated resources associated with one or more containers. Containers are automatically allocated to tenants based at least in part upon the one or more per-tenant resource metrics.

A virtual agent for resolving an issue with one or more objects is described, wherein each object is accessible by one of more users of a customer. The virtual agent receives information derived from one or more coded optical indicia specifying an intent of a virtual agent conversation, wherein the intent identifies an issue to be resolved; and based on the intent, process the information to further resolution of the issue. The received information may further specify at least one parameter, wherein the at least one parameter represents supplemental information required for resolution of the issue.

An embodiment of the invention facilitates deployment and configuration of conventional, substantially autonomous access points operating in connection with a central management node, such as a server or appliance. In another embodiment, the present invention facilitates deployment and configuration of light-weight access points in a hierarchical wireless network system. In one embodiment, the present invention also provides a streamlined encryption key exchange protocol adapted to hierarchical wireless network system architectures.

According to one embodiment, a method includes monitoring, at one or more wireless network access elements, signal strength of signals transmitted by respective neighboring wireless network access elements. Information is collected from said wireless network access elements and converted into reportable data about signal strength observed during the monitoring. The method further includes identifying, based at least in part on interference associated with concurrent signal transmissions of the wireless network access elements, a combination of channel assignments for the one or more wireless network access elements from a plurality of possible combinations of channel assignments and assigning channels for concurrent, respective use by said wireless network access elements based on the identified combination of channel assignments.

Method and system for dynamically assigning channels across multiple radios in a wireless LAN

Techniques are provided to enable a support for guest access of devices in a network. At a controller apparatus in a first mobility sub-domain of a network comprising a plurality of mobility sub-domains, a request message containing a request for guest network access for a device is received from a first access switch in the first mobility sub-domain. The controller apparatus forwards the request message to a guest controller. At a tunneling endpoint apparatus in the first mobility sub-domain, a tunnel is established to the guest controller to carry traffic between the device and the guest controller. Traffic for the device passes in a tunnel between the first access switch and the tunneling endpoint apparatus in the first mobility sub-domain, through the tunneling endpoint apparatus in the first mobility sub-domain and in the tunnel between the routing apparatus in the first mobility sub-domain and the guest controller.

Guest access support for wired and wireless clients in distributed wireless controller system

A packet aggregation system. In particular implementations, a method includes accessing one or more transmit queues, each corresponding to a wireless client associated with a given wireless mesh access point of a plurality of mesh access points. The method further includes selecting a mesh access point of the plurality of mesh access points and selecting a transmit queue corresponding to a wireless client associated with the selected mesh access point. The method further includes aggregating packets that are destined for the selected wireless client, up to a size limit, taking into account the path to the selected mesh point as well as quality of service constraints, and composing and transmitting the aggregated packet to the selected mesh access point.

End-to-end packet aggregation in mesh networks

Techniques are provided for seamless integration of wired and wireless functionality packet forwarding in network. A plurality of access switches are provided in each of a plurality of mobility sub-domains that are part of a mobility domain of a network. Each access switch serves one or more Internet Protocol (IP) subnets, each comprising a plurality of IP addresses. An access switch obtains an IP address for a wireless device according to the one or more IP subnets that the access switch serves. The access switch sends an association advertisement message to indicate the IP address of the wireless device and to enable other access switches and routers to compute a path to the wireless device. When a wireless device obtains an IP address, it can keep the same IP address as it roams in the mobility domain.

Routing to the access layer to support mobility of internet protocol devices

Techniques are provided to enable support of roaming wireless devices in a network such that the wireless devices can keep their Internet Protocol (IP) addresses as they roam across mobility sub-domains. Traffic for a wireless device that roams is tunneled back to the access switch that serves the IP subnet which includes an IP address for the wireless device. Traffic is tunneled back to that access switch for the wireless device when the wireless device roams to another access switch which does not serve the IP subnet for the wireless device in the same mobility sub-domain and when the wireless device roams to a different mobility sub-domain, in which case the traffic is tunneled between tunneling endpoints in the respective mobility sub-domains.

Maintaining point of presence at access switch for roaming clients in distributed wireless controller system

Techniques are provided to support roaming of wireless devices in a network such that the wireless devices can keep their Internet Protocol (IP) addresses as they roam within and across mobility sub-domains. When a wireless device roams from one access switch to another access switch, a tunneling endpoint apparatus in the wireless device's home mobility sub-domain is configured to serve as the point of presence for the roamed wireless device. Traffic for the roamed wireless device is tunneled from the access switch where the wireless device has roamed (where it is currently attached) to the tunneling endpoint apparatus. When the wireless device roams across mobility sub-domains, then traffic is tunneled from the access switch where the wireless device is currently attached to the tunneling endpoint apparatus in that mobility sub-domain (called a 'foreign' mobility sub-domain) to the tunneling endpoint apparatus in the wireless device's home mobility sub-domain.

Maintaining point of presence at tunneling endpoint for roaming clients in distributed wireless controller system

A system and method for a hierarchical distributed control architecture to support roaming wireless client devices. Access switches serve one or more Internet Protocol (IP) subnets that include plural IP addresses. The access switches are arranged in switch peer groups and store information about other access switches in that switch peer group and about locations of wireless client devices that are associated with any access switch in the switch peer group. The access switches are further grouped into a corresponding mobility sub-domain each including plural switch peer groups. Plural controller devices control access switches in a corresponding mobility sub-domain. Each controller device stores information about the access switches and about locations of wireless client devices within its mobility sub-domain. A central controller device communicates with the controller devices for the respective mobility sub-domains. The central controller device stores information about locations of wireless client devices in the mobility sub-domains.

Hierarchical control signaling for mobile clients in distributed wireless controller system

Methods, apparatuses and systems facilitating location or containment of rogue or unauthorized access points on wireless computer network environments. Embodiments of the present invention support one to a plurality of rogue containment methodologies. A first rogue containment type involves identification of the physical connection of the rogue access point to the wired network infrastructure and, thus, allows for disabling of that physical connection to contain the rogue access point. Other rogue containment methods involve wireless techniques for containing the effect of rogue access points. In some embodiments, the present invention provides methods, apparatuses and systems facilitating network location of rogue access points to determine whether one or more rogue containment methodologies should be applied. As discussed below, the rogue location and containment functionality described herein can be applied to a wide variety of wireless network system architectures.

Discovery of rogue access point location in wireless network environments

In a wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) system, a hierarchical architecture is provided which employs a protocol which divides protocol processing functions between a plurality of substantially identical access elements in which reside time-critical protocol functions, such as acknowledgment and retransmission of packets, and a centralized control element which provides control and management functions related to dynamic configuration of wireless networks, such as processing of network management messages (e.g., authentication and association), load control, channel control, and handoff, processing of physical layer information, and processing of channel characteristics, propagation, interference or noise, for the plurality of access elements on the WLAN without loss of information about the wireless characteristics of the access elements. This hierarchical protocol processing architecture allows the data flow to be centralized for better performance and provides useful access to all the protocol information from the WLAN.
