The present invention relates to an electrical terminal for a female connector. The terminal includes a contact blade having a first sheet plane. The contact blade is configured to contact an electrical pin with a contact force when the terminal is mated with the electrical and a separate support blade having a second sheet plane. The support blade engages with a corresponding contact blade to increase the contact force. The first and second sheet planes are orientated substantially perpendicular to each other. The support blade includes an engaging portion configured to engage the corresponding contact blade transversely in a middle of the corresponding contact blade.

Electrical terminal for a female connector

The present invention relates to an electrical terminal for a female connector. The terminal includes a contact blade having a first sheet plane. The contact blade is configured to contact an electrical pin with a contact force when the terminal is mated with the electrical and a separate support blade having a second sheet plane. The support blade engages with a corresponding contact blade to increase the contact force. The first and second sheet planes are orientated substantially perpendicular to each other.

Electrical terminal for a female connector and a method to manufacture the same

An electrical male terminal formed from a metal plate comprising a mating portion having contact surfaces adapted to electrically contact a female terminal. The mating portion comprises a first and second seamless strip electrically contacting the first and second female contact surfaces. The male terminal has a seam comprising a mating portion seam, within the mating portion, which is parallel to the longitudinal axis, and located on one of the side portions which are perpendicular to the contact surfaces of the mating portion.

The electrical contact includes a wire crimping portion receiving an electrical wire, a cylindrical power contact portion for connection with a complementary contact. The power contact portion comprises includes a body mechanically retained on the wire crimping portion and spring legs depending from the body and to be contacted with the complementary contact. The electrical contact further includes an electrically insulating cover covering the spring legs. The cover additionally includes fool proof features to prevent incorrect assembly of the cover into passages of the housing.

The present invention relates to a method for unmating an electrical connector assembly wherein the movement for unmating the first and second connectors is temporarily blocked after interlocking contacts are disconnected and before the power contacts are disconnected. The invention also relates to a connector system and a connector assembly offering such functions.

The electrical connector includes an insulating housing, for receiving at least one electrical contact terminal connected to a cable, wherein at least one terminal accommodating chamber is formed, said insulating housing including a front face intended to mate with a counterpart connector, and a rear wall provided with a rear slot for introducing each terminal in the respective chamber. It further including a sealing deformable material facing the rear wall, and a press for pressing the sealing deformable material against the rear wall. The press comprises a flap connected to the housing so as to be able to rotate between an open position in which access to the rear slot is allowed, and a closed position in which the flap presses the sealing deformable material against the rear wall, so that the sealing deformable material deforms in order to sealingly close the rear slot and come into contact with the cable when it is inserted.

Electrical connector

The object of the invention is an electrical connector module comprising housings () for receiving forwardly-inserted female contacts (), each contact comprising a forward cage () and a rear blade () provided with pins () to be crimped on a flexible circuit (). The object of the arrangement according to the present invention is to permit a forward mounting of the contact with an immobilization in its housing.

Electrical connector with low force of insertion particularly with blade contacts, for a flexible circuit

A low insertion force electrical connector comprising at least a plug and a base provided with a blind recess for receiving the plug. The base has pin contacts. The plug is connected to a bundle of electrical cables by means of electrical contacts. The base and the plug comprise conjugal means on the base and plug, which conjugal means include the base having a guide groove opening into a swing and lock hole formed in the base. The conjugal means permit a displacement in translation, with the plug in a first orientation, and when the plug is completely inserted at the end of the blind recess of the base a swinging displacement of the plug relative to the base, from the first to a second orientation, in which the plug is immobilized in translation by first locking means on the base and plug.

The connector is intended to be plugged into a complementary connector. It comprises a casing (10) having two side walls (16) defining a corridor, transverse to the plug-in direction and at least one contact-carrying module (12) which can be inserted into the corridor and defines a row of cavities for receiving contact terminals. A window (20) is made in at least one of the walls and a flank of the module carries a projecting coding key (38) which is oriented parallel to the plug-in direction and is placed so as to lie in the window when the module is in place.

The electrical connector comprises a plug (12) incorporating a housing (22) and a contact-locking grid (32) designed to be inserted in the plug housing until a contact-locking position is reached, and a mounting base (10) incorporating a housing which delimits a cavity for insertion of the contact-locking grid and a drawer (14) which is inserted by force. The grid belonging to the base comprises at least one tab (60) designed to constitute a stop blocking the plug prior to engagement of the pegs in the slots in the drawer (14) when the grid in not fully inserted. This tab (60) is connected to the body of the grid by a thin part forming a hinge, which moves the plate out of the path of a plug component when the grid (32) is fully inserted.
