A headphone device including (i) a first and second earpiece, (ii) a headbow adjustably connecting the first and second earpiece, wherein the first and/or the second earpiece is extendable from the headbow, and wherein the headbow includes (a) an inner cavity and (b) a fastener positioned within the inner cavity at a midpoint of the headbow, and (iii) a cable assembly including a cable formed into a sinusoidal pattern when the cable assembly is in a resting position, the cable assembly extending between the first and second earpieces and positioned within the inner cavity in the resting position such that the cable assembly is extendable within the inner cavity from the resting position when the first and/or second earpieces are extended from the headbow, and wherein a midpoint of the cable assembly is fixed, within the inner cavity, at the midpoint of the headbow via the fastener.

Cable retraction mechanism for headphone devices

Systems and methods for securing a headphone ear cushion to a headphone earcup on a headphone are described. One embodiment includes orienting an ear cushion proximate to, but not touching, an earcup of a headphone, where the ear cushion includes an attachment ring, the earcup including an attachment receiving interface, aligning a first slot in the attachment ring with a first inward-facing hook on the attachment receiving interface, aligning a first notch with a first outward-facing hook and a second notch with a second outward-facing hook, pressing the attachment ring against the attachment receiving interface such that the first inward-facing hook passes through the first slot, the first outward-facing hook passes through the first notch, and the second outward-facing hook passes through the second notch, and sliding the first elliptical ring relative to the second elliptical ring.

A headphone device includes (i) a first earpiece including an antenna at least partially disposed within the first earpiece, (ii) a second earpiece, (iii) a headbow adjustably connecting the first earpiece and the second earpiece, where one or both of the first and second earpieces are extendable from the headbow, the headbow including an inner cavity, and (iv) a cable assembly including a cable that is formed into a sinusoidal pattern having a series of peaks and valleys when the cable assembly is in a resting position, the cable at least partially formed from an elastomeric material, the cable assembly extending between the first and second earpieces within the inner cavity of the headbow in the resting position such that the cable assembly is extendable within the inner cavity of the headbow from the resting position when one or both of the first and second earpieces are extended from the headbow.

Headphone ear cushion attachment mechanism

The headphone device includes a headbow adjustably connecting the first earpiece and the second earpiece, where the first earpiece and second earpiece are each extendable from the headbow, which includes an inner cavity. A cable assembly including a cable extends between the first earpiece and the second earpiece. The cable assembly is at least partially formed from an elastomeric material and is positioned within the inner cavity of the headbow in a resting position such that the cable assembly is extendable within the inner cavity of the headbow from the resting position when one or both of the first and second earpieces are extended from the headbow.
