The invention pertains to a fluoropolymer composition comprising certain tetrafluoroethylene/perfluoromethyvinylether copolymers having well-defined TFE/MVE monomer composition and possessing low molecular weight and a white pigment, to the use of this latter for manufacturing shaped articles, and to shaped articles therefrom, including components of light emitting apparatuses, e.g. LED assemblies.

Multilayer assembly

The invention pertains to certain perfluorinated thermoplastic elastomers suitable for being processed through additive manufacturing techniques, thanks to their surprising ability to possess better processability (notably more significant shear thinning at processability temperature) than corresponding perfluorinated thermoplasts, which possess similar product profile and hence performances, offering hence advantages in throughput and part design accurate control, containment of degradation, reduction of fumes, and yet delivering parts with outstanding chemical resistance.

The invention also pertains to use of the cable in downhole wells.

The invention mainly pertains to a method for heat treating a composition [composition (C)] which contains at least one melt-processible perfluoropolymer [polymer (F)] formed of tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) copolymer with one or more perfluorinated comonomers [comonomer (F)] containing at least one unsaturation of ethylene type in amounts from 0.5% to 13% by weight, preferably from 0.6% to 11% by weight, and more preferably from 0.8% to 9% by weight; said polymer (F) possessing reactive end groups comprising at least one of the group consisting of hydrogen atoms, oxygen atoms and ethylenically unsaturated double bonds in an amount of at least 4.5 mmol/kg, the process comprising at least the step of heat-treating the composition (C) at a temperature of at least 260&#xb0; C.

Melt-processable perfluoropolymers having improved thermal and mechanical properties after heating treatment

The invention pertains to a fluoropolymer composition comprising: &#x2014;at least one fluoropolymer [polymer (A)]; &#x2014;at least one benzoxazine compound [compound (B)] of formula (I), wherein each of R, equal to or different at each occurrence, is H or a C-Calkyl group; Ris a C-Chydrocarbon group, possibly comprising heteroatoms, optionally comprising at least one benzoxazine group; j is zero or an integer of 1 to 4; each of R, equal or different at each occurrence, is a halogen or a C-Chydrocarbon group, possibly comprising heteroatoms, optionally comprising at least one benzoxazine group; &#x2014;at least one aromatic polyimide polymer [polymer (PI)]; &#x2014;at least one organic solvent [solvent (S)], and to a method for coating a surface, specifically a metal surface, with a fluoropolymer, using said fluoropolymer composition.

The invention mainly pertains to a process for heat treating a composition [composition (C)] which contains at least one melt-processible perfluoropolynner [polymer (F)] formed of tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) copolymer with one or more perfluorinated comonomers [comonomer (F)] containing at least one unsaturation of ethylene type in amounts from 0.5% to 13% by weight, preferably from 0.6% to 11% by weight, and more preferably from 0.8% to 9% by weight; the process comprising at least the step of heat-treating the composition (C) at a temperature of at least 260&#xb0; C. and in the absence of a melt flowable polytetrafluoroethylene. The invention is also related to a melt-processible perfluoropolynner [polymer (F1)] formed of tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) copolymer with one or more perfluorinated comonomers [comonomer (F)] containing at least one unsaturation of ethylene type in amounts from 0.5% to 13% by weight, preferably from 0.6% to 11% by weight, and more preferably from 0.8% to 9% by weight, wherein a particular relation between comonomer (F) content and first melting temperature of polymer (F1) is satisfied.

Use in LAN cable applications, as materials for the coating of the primary cable and for the external jacket, of TFE thermoprocessable perfluoropolymers comprising perfluoroalkylvinylethers in the following amounts, expressed as percent by weight on the total of the monomers: a) 0-5.5% of perfluoromethylvinylether (PMVE); b) 0.4-4.5% of perfluoroethylvinylether (PEVE) and/or perfluoropropylvinylether (PPVE); when a) is present, then a)+b) ranges from 1.5% to 5.5% by weight on the total of the monomers; optionally c) 0-6% of hexafluoropropene (HFP); the TFE amount being the complement to 100% by weight.

LAN cables

Copolymers formed by TFE and FMVE containing FMVE in percent by moles from 2.5% to 8%; the % TFE moles being the complement to 100% of the FMVE moles.
