The invention relates to an apparatus () for collecting dust samples. The apparatus comprises a piston () and a cylinder () for holding the piston with a body having a hole () extending through the body. The cylinder () has a first end (), which is open, the first end of the cylinder being slanted such that underside () of the cylinder extends farther than upper side (). A mechanism () moves the piston between inward and outward positions. The apparatus gathers dust flowing past the piston into the hole of the piston when the piston is in the outward position and moves the gathered dust by moving the piston into the inward position. An input feed () is configured to spread fluid through the hole filled with dust to flush the dust to an output feed ().

Apparatus for collecting dust samples

An apparatus for optically measuring fluidal matter having fluid as medium and particles non-dissolved in the medium wherein the apparatus comprises a measurement chamber, which is configured to contain the fluidal matter, and a nozzle. The nozzle receives flowable matter and emits a jet of the flowable matter towards or fromwards an optical detector which is associated with the measurement chamber and receives optical radiation from the fluidal matter in the measurement chamber.

Apparatus and method for optically measuring fluidal matter having fluid as medium and particles non-dissolved in medium

A solution for measuring a suspension which contains wood fibres. The consistency of the suspension is changed in a consistency range. Optical radiation is directed at the suspension and the intensity of optical radiation interacted with the suspension is measured at different consistencies in the consistency range. The maximum intensity of the optical radiation is determined within the consistency range. At least one of the following properties of the suspension are determined based on the determined maximum intensity: kappa number, brightness.

Method and measurement apparatus for measuring suspension

A sampler including an ejector and a sample channel extending to the ejector, which are placeable in a mixture of particles of a solid and a medium, the medium being a gas and/or a liquid. The ejector includes at least one inlet and an outlet. The ejector takes a mixture sample by using vacuum via the inlet and discharges it via the outlet so as to make the mixture sample flow from the inlet towards the outlet. The sample channel takes a desired measuring sample from the mixture sample flowing in the ejector, the solid particles and the medium being at least partly separable from one another in the ejector on the basis of the flow and inertia in the mixture sample.

Sampler

A measuring device comprising at least one mixer structure to receive a fiber suspension sample from at least one process part. Each mixer structure is provided with a measuring unit, a feeding valve for feeding feed liquid into a sample line for pushing the sample in the sample line towards the measuring unit, a mixing valve structure for feeding dilution liquid into the mixer structure The mixer structure mixes the flowing sample and the dilution liquid with one another in order to reduce the consistency of the sample. The measuring device measures from the first part of the mixed sample one property of the fiber suspension and the measuring device measures from the second part of the mixed sample a further property.
