Where large transport blocks are rate-matched and transmitted on each PUSCH segment using different redundancy versions (RVs), RV cycling with a small number of PUSCH segments might not cover the whole codeword, and/or rate-matching a large TBS across many PUSCH segments into the resource of a single PUSCH segment may lead to an effective coding rate of the self-decodable redundancy versions that is too high. To avoid these issues, the starting position of one or more RVs may be shifted by setting the starting position of a current RV to be the same as an ending position of a previous position, or by scaling the starting position by a value. Alternatively, these issues may be avoided by setting a new starting position for an RV based on the gap from the end of a previous RV to the start of a current RV.

Method of shifting redundancy version for the transmission of a transport block over multiple slots

This disclosure presents processes for improving the quality of NR PDCCH reception at a UE when transmitted in a same orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol and a same frequency domain resource element as an LTE CRS. Using a capability parameter of the UE, a network node can transmit an LTE CRS and NR PDCCH in the same OFDM symbol and the same frequency domain resource elements using various encoding schemes. The encoding schemes can be one or more of puncture signalling, superposition signalling, relative power levels, UE type, adjusting the AL of the LTE CRS, or various combinations thereof. The UE can decode the PDDCH using the encoding scheme. Legacy UEs can be supported with this disclosure by the network node selecting supported UE capabilities for the encoding. The network node can balance transmission reliability with available resources.

The physical broadcast channel may be received with the at least one candidate pattern of the physical broadcast channel. Based on a determination of whether the physical broadcast channel was correctly received, a system information block physical downlink control channel may be received with the at least one candidate pattern of the physical broadcast channel, or the at least one candidate pattern of the physical broadcast channel may be modified.

An example method, apparatus, and computer-readable storage medium are provided for panel activation at a user equipment. In an example implementation, the method may include a user equipment (UE) receiving a synchronization signal block (SSB) from a network node; receiving a panel activation request from the network node; measuring a plurality of beams received from the network node; activating one or more panels, the activating based at least on the panel activation request and/or the measuring; and transmitting, by the user equipment (UE): a first transmission of a physical random access channel (PRACH) using a first physical random access channel (PRACH) resource, a second transmission of the physical random access channel (PRACH) using a second physical random access channel (PRACH) resource configured for indicating the activating of one or more panels at the user equipment (UE), and wherein the first transmission and the second transmission are transmitted using a same transmit (Tx) beam from the user equipment (UE).

The disclosure relates to subframe bundling in a system where subframe bundling is based on a set of bundling definitions. Control information is provided for at least one communication device configured to provide subframe bundling such that the control information is generated to be at least partially inconsistent with the set of bundling definitions. The control information is signaled to the at least one communication device to adjust the state of subframe bundling and/or size of subframe bundled transmission in accordance with a predefined rule by the at least one communication device. When the device receives the information, is determines that received control information is inconsistent with the set of bundling definitions. In response to the determination, the device can adjust the state of subframe bundling and/or size of subframe bundled transmission.

Improved adaptation to a frequency band comprising sub-bands is provided by receiving a coding rate of an error correction coding scheme for encoding modulation symbols to be transmitted on sub-bands of a frequency band in radio communications, determining relative radio channel qualities of the sub-bands of the frequency band, and allocating transmission power between the sub-bands at least on the basis of the relative radio channel qualities of the sub-bands and the received coding rate.

A method for reference signal transmission is disclosed, wherein a demodulation reference signal DMRS and a sounding reference signal SRS is transmitted in a same time domain resource from a user terminal to an LTE base station. A single reference signal sequence is used both for demodulation and detection of a data channel, and for channel sounding, such that a reference signal sequence part used for the demodulation and detection of the data channel is in a power offset compared to a reference signal sequence part used for the channel sounding. Code division multiplexing is applied on a reference signal sequence by using a cyclic shift of a whole length of the sequence. The cyclic shift is selected such that reference signal sequences allocated to the different user terminals are orthogonal over a minimum allocation granularity of the data channel.

Method and apparatus for transmitting a reference signal in a communication system

Methods and apparatuses for supporting communication of critical data in a cellular system are disclosed. Upon determination of communication of critical data in a first cell a node of the first cell generates a signal including information of reservation of radio resources for said communication of critical data. The signal is communicated from the first cell to at least one second cell to reduce interference on said radio resources. A node of a second cell receives the signal and manages interference on said radio resources based on the signal. This includes prevention or limitation of use of said radio resources in the second cell when the second cell is not involved in communication of critical data.

An inter-system interference estimation method is disclosed for both primary and secondary radio systems. In the case of a primary system (such as a GSM system), inter-system interference estimation is based on a comparison of cell level measurement statistics before and after secondary spectrum usage in neighboring cells. In the case of a secondary system (such as an LTE system), inter-system interference estimation is based on a measurement on secondary spectrum before starting transmission on the secondary spectrum. Based on both of the above mentioned inter-system inter-cell interference estimations, a cell-level decision on the secondary spectrum usage is made, and optimization of radio resource allocation inside the systems may be carried out.

A method includes determining a base sequence, cyclic shift, and UE-specific portion of a frequency comb, applying the cyclic shift to the base sequence to create a shifted sequence, and selecting a portion of the shifted sequence as a user equipment-specific SRS. The selected portion of the shifted sequence corresponds to the portion of the frequency comb. A second method includes assigning a cyclic shift and a UE-specific portion of a frequency comb to a UE, where the cyclic shift is for use by the UE to apply the cyclic shift to the determined base sequence to create a shifted sequence.
