A method of measuring distance of a target by a pulse emitter and a matrix detector includes spatial mini-detectors coupled to capacitors whose duration of integration is controlled by a polarization of the mini-detectors. Telemetry method and system using an imager

A device for measuring a distance of a target by means of a telemeter comprises: a laser pulse emitter; a receiver of the laser echoes backscattered by the target, comprising, a spatial detection device which comprises at least one photodiode set up as integrator and is able to provide a spatial signal, and a temporal detection device which comprises at least one photodiode coupled to a transimpedance circuit and is able to provide a so-called temporal signal, means of processing of the spatial signal and of the temporal signal, comprising a unit for calculating the distance of the target, the temporal signal being in the form of a data frame which is the recording of data detected over a predetermined duration. The means of processing comprise: means of post-integration of temporal signals, linked at output to the unit for calculating the distance of the target, linked to the spatial detection device and to the temporal detection device, means for selecting the temporal signals to be transmitted to the post-integration means, as a function of the spatial signal.

An optical pumping structure for lasers includes: an active medium in the form of a cylindrical rod with a circular cross-section, said rod being inserted at its ends into two rings made of a thermally conductive material; at least three stacks of pumping diode strips arranged in the form of a star around the rod; and a support temperature-regulated by a Peltier-effect module. The rings are in contact with the support, and a stack of diodes, called bottom stack, being situated between the rod and the support, and the structure comprises, for each other stack, a thermal conduction block forming a support for said stack, these blocks being mounted on the cooled support and not being in contact with one another or with the rings.

Apparatus and optical method of ranging and of high bit-rate communication

The present invention relates to a range-finder comprising a laser pulse emission device and a device for detecting the pulses reflected by a distant object. The emission device is capable of emitting pulses of N distinct wavelengths, N being an integer greater than 1, with, for each wavelength, a pulse repetition frequency less than a predetermined threshold frequency. Thus, no given wavelength emission will be faced with the problem of distance ambiguity.

A laser device suitable for emitting pulses with a variable period and with stabilized energy includes: a resonant cavity including an amplifying medium presenting a stabilized gain G and suitable for emitting laser pulses at a wavelength &#x3bb;, and a Q-switch, and a source of continuous pumping of the amplifying medium. It furthermore includes an injector positioned outside the resonant cavity, suitable for emitting a beam of wavelength &#x3bb; into the amplifying material for the duration of the pumping, and which includes means for adjusting the power of this beam in order to reduce the gain of the amplifying medium to G/k, where k is a real number greater than 1.
