A device for measuring the total organic carbon content (TOC) of a sample fluid comprises a measuring cell () defining a volume () for containing a sample fluid and an excimer lamp () arranged to cause an oxidation reaction of the sample fluid by emitting radiation onto the sample fluid in the volume (). A pair of electrodes is arranged to measure the conductivity of the sample fluid during the oxidation reaction and at least one temperature senor () is arranged on the measuring cell () to measure a temperature that is related to the sample fluid. The total organic carbon content (TOC) of the sample fluid is determined on the basis of the measured conductivity compensated by the temperature related to the sample fluid.

Flow-through fluid purification device and means for accommodating a radiation source

The present patent application relates to a device () for measuring the conductivity of a liquid, which comprises a measuring chamber for containing a sampling volume to be irradiated with UV rays formed in a hydraulic body () which comprises an inlet channel for feeding the measuring chamber with liquid to be measured and an outlet channel for removing the measured liquid from the measuring chamber, the inlet channel and the outlet channel emerging on either side beyond a surface exposed to the UV rays, such that only the sampling volume contained in the measuring chamber is irradiated. The present patent application is also directed towards a use of such a device and to a purification system comprising such a device.

A biocidal fluid purification cap () for a fluid container (), preferably one storing purified water for use in laboratory environments and especially purified water for cell culture and water for molecular biology. The purification cap () includes a cap body () including an engagement feature () for removably attaching the cap body () to a mating engagement feature on a spout of the fluid container () to hermetically close a spout opening, at least one LED () adapted to emit light in the UV-C range, electronic circuitry () for driving the LED(s) (), and a power supply for the electronic circuitry (). This is a method for analyzing the purity of water at the outlet from a purification device. The method includes the following steps, in the presence of a reference TOC analyzer: (a) producing a calibration point by a measurement carried out on ultrapure water by the device and the analyzer; (b) producing a plurality of calibration points, each calibration point corresponding to a measurement of the resistivity of a solution having a given content of photo-oxidizable compound, by the device and the analyzer, in order to establish a correlation between the values measured by the device and the analyzer; and (c) calibrating the device by at least one algorithm, based on the measurements carried out in the previous step.
