A buckle for a sports boot, such as an alpine ski boot, as well as a sports boot equipped with such buckle. The buckle is adapted to move two parts of the boot upper relative to each other for tightening the boot on the foot and/or lower leg of the wearer, the buckle including a base fixed on the first of the boot parts, a lever articulated on the base, and a hooking element connected to the lever by means of a rod. The lever contour demarcates a surface, the area of which is greater than 27 cmand the width thereof being greater than 53 mm. The buckle also includes a rack fixed to the second of the parts of the boot, the width of which is greater than 25 mm. With a buckle having such dimensions, a ski boot according to the invention can be equipped with only two such buckles, one on the lower base and one on the cuff.

Boot of the front entry type with variable volume having a shell that includes an upper and a shell base that overlap at least partially in the area corresponding to the dorsal zone of the boot, the upper being pivotally connected to the shell base. A bending mechanism is integrated in its dorsal zone where it is sandwiched between the upper and the shell base on which it is attached and rigidly affixed, and such bending mechanism is formed by a flexible strip that includes a vertical notch, open upwardly and whose delineating edges extend freely beneath the upper. The bending mechanism enables the flexibility characteristics of the boot to be determined.

A boot having a shell base with an upper extending thereabove, the upper being pivotal in the front-to-rear and rear-to-front directions. The boot includes an immobilization device located on the upper which is adapted to cooperate with two abutment zones that are provided on the shell base. This device has a manoeuvering member equipped with a rotational cam and two mobile elements, each element being adapted to cooperate with one of the two abutment zones. The device enables the bending capacity of the upper to be modified in at least one direction, depending on the use envisioned for the boot at any given moment.

A sport boot having a shell base with its sole and an upper that is provided with at least one tightening device mounted on a strap to surround the lower part of the skier's leg, on the one hand, and in its rear portion with at least one adjustment arrangement enabling it to adapt to the morphology of the rear zone of the lower part of the leg. The boot upper has a rigid lower element topped and connected by a linking element to a flexible upper element that is provided with at least one strap with its tightening device, and with at least one deformable portion. The deformable portion is located above the element in correspondence with the back zone of the lower element, such that by tightening the strap on the lower part of the leg, such portion presses against the rear zone of the latter by adapting to its morphology.

Alpine ski boot comprising an outer shell, in which an inner slipper is placed, the shell being constituted by a shell base incorporating at least one rear cover which pivots on the shell base around a transverse axis to a pivoted open position and vice-versa, while the inner slipper comprises a rear tongue extending upward. An alpine ski boot including a shell base adapted to encircle tn foot, and an upper overlying the shell base adapted to envelop the lower part of the leg of the skier and at the same time enable the leg of the skier to be flexed at least partially frontwardly, wherein the upper of the boot comprises a rear spoiler pivotally mounted on the shell base by means of a first journal at the level of the heel wall and a front portion, itself constituted by a front tongue cooperating with a front overlapping strap pivotally mounted on the shell base by a second journal, whereas the tightening and closure device of the upper are located respectively on the rear spoiler and the front overlapping strap in order to enable them to cooperate together in the closure position of the boot, a device for adjusting the angle of advance of the upper being located between the front tongue and the overlapping strap in a zone located on the front of the upper.
