A power conductor can include a plurality of copper-clad aluminum wires that are braided together to form a power braid. The power conductor can include an insulating sheath configured to enclose at least a portion of the power braid. The power conductor can be configured for use a power distribution system, and can be configured to electrically connect a transformer with a power distribution modules. The power conductor can be configured to connect to a conductive palm of the transformer and to a conductive contact of the power distribution module.

A support assembly, for supporting one or more conductors of a low voltage power distribution system, can include an adjustable clip subassembly. The adjustable clip subassembly can include a housing, a clip, and a biasing element. The housing can define a receiving space, and the clip can define a receiving region. The clip can be positioned within the receiving space so that the receiving region receives the housing. The biasing element can be disposed between the clip and the housing and configured to bias the clip away from the housing. The subassembly can be configured to move between an open configuration and a closed configuration. In the open configuration, the clip can compress the biasing element against the housing, allowing for insertion of a conductor into the receiving space. In the closed configuration, clip can be laterally translated, relative to the open configuration, to engage the conductor.

Support assembly for power conductors

A low voltage power conductor can include a plurality of copper-clad aluminum wires braided into a power braid. The low voltage power conductor may be configured for use in a power distribution system for distributing power from an electrical grid, and can be attached to the transformer and the power distribution module at single respective attachment points. A low voltage power distribution system can include a low voltage power conductor and a clamp that includes a clamp body and a clamp spacer. Legs of the clamp spacer can be configured to limit deformation of the low voltage power conductor upon compression of the low voltage power conductor by the clamp.

A flexible busbar includes a central conductor (generally of rectangular cross section comprising multiple layers of thin aluminum, copper or other alloys with good electrical properties (conductivity)) and a sleeve having a shape on the internal surface to reduce the adhesion between the two conductors and the sleeve when the flexible busbar is bent, folded, or twisted. This increases the flexibility of the flexible busbar.

The terminal block assembly of this invention provides a finger safe method of distributing power while at the same time enabling the installer to make uniform and correct connections to a multiplicity of taps or ports. Each connection includes an abutment or seat physically to engage the end of the conductor and in addition the construction of the block and its insulating case provides the installer with visual access to the tip of the conductor in its proper seated position before the conductor is secured to the block with clamp screws. In order to provide such visual access the walls partially blocking the seating end of each conductor socket are scalloped or provided with an inverted conical section which enables the tip of each conductor to be seen from the top of the block. To facilitate this visual access the entire top of the insulating case is made from a transparent material. In one embodiment the top is provided with interior projections serving both to gauge and limit retraction of some of the clamp screws to prevent loose screws in the case. In another embodiment the screws, even though fully retracted or disengaged from the blcok, are held in axial alignment with their respective sockets and can't become loose in the case.
