Electric cable that withstands electric arc propagation

A flexible coaxial cable includes a shield formed by at least one metal tape provided with a metal coating and wound helically around the insulated core of the cable. The shield is sealed to itself in leakproof manner by the coating which is melted so as to bond directly together the overlapping turns of a single tape or the overlapping turns of two superposed tapes by subjecting the cable provided with the shield to peripheral induction heating.

A method of manufacturing an insulative material cellular insulator around a conductor, the insulator having a longitudinal passage in which the conductor is housed and closed cells extending longitudinally and separated from each other by radial walls, includes the following operations: the insulative material in the viscous state is extruded to impart the required shape to it to form the cells, the insulative material shaped in this way is applied to the conductor, and the insulative material is cooled to obtain the insulator. The insulative material is applied to the conductor at a distance from the exit of the shaping device such that the material is drawn down sufficiently for the walls of the cells not to be thinned without pressurizing the cells.

Method and device for manufacturing an insulative material cellular

The herringbone harness has multiple branches leading off from a trunk divided into segments by the forks at which the branches start. The harness is exclusively shielded firstly by first braids made over the individual branches, each first braid having a first enlarged tab over at least one of the segments on either side of the branch in question, and secondly by second braids made over the individual segments, each second braid having a second enlarged tab over that adjacent segment which is of smaller diameter than the segment in question. The harness includes shielding continuity means over each fork, which means are constituted exclusively by enlarged tabs in the individual shielding braids of the various branches, each enlarged tab extending over the fork and beyond over another branch, and being covered by the shielding braid of said other branch.

Shielded multibranch harness

A pre-equipped shielded harness has at least one end portion formed of a bundle of twisted-together conductors covered by a shielding braid. The harness includes an expander having cross-sectional dimensions substantially identical to those of a rear of a connector to be connected to the end portion. The expander is positioned at the location at which the connector is to be connected, and is covered by the shielding braid by preforming the shielding braid over the expander. The shielded harness has high magnetic protection.
