A thermoplastic composition comprises, based on the total weight of the composition: 51-90 wt % polyester, 10-49 wt % ABS impact modifier; 0-20 wt % of multifunctional epoxy compound; 0-40 wt % filler; 0-2 wt % fibrillated fluoropolymer; and more than 0 to 5 wt % of a stabilizer composition. An article blow molded or injection molded from the composition has a multi-axial impact total energy from 30-100 Joules at &#x2212;30&#xb0; C. and a ductility of more than 90%; a permeability of more than 0 and less than or equal to 1.5 g/m-day to ASTM D 471-98 Fuel C, measured after exposure to ASTM D 471-98 Fuel C vapor for 20 weeks at 40&#xb0; C.; an MVR of 1-20 cc/10 min., measured at 265&#xb0; C.; a flexural modulus of greater than 1300 MPa; and retains at least 75% of its initial tensile elongation at break, after exposure to Fuel E85 for 28 days at 70&#xb0; C.

Moldable polyester compositions, processes of manufacture, and articles thereof

The invention relates to a composition comprising (a) from 5 to 99 wt % of a modified polybutylene terephthalate random copolymer that (1) is derived from polyethylene terephthalate component selected from the group consisting of polyethylene terephthalate and polyethylene terephthalate copolymers and (2) has at least one residue derived from the polyethylene terephthalate component, and (b) at least 1 wt % of a filler component. In one embodiment, the invention relates to an article molded from the above-mentioned molding composition. In another embodiment, the invention relates to methods for making and methods for using the molding composition.

Molding compositions containing fillers and modified polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) random copolymers derived from polyethylene terephthalate (PET)

A thermoplastic composition comprises, based on the total weight of the composition: 51-90 wt % of a polyester, 10-49 wt % of an ABS impact modifier; 0 to 20 wt % of a multifunctional epoxy compound; 0-40 wt % of a filler; 0-2 wt % of a fibrillated fluoropolymer; and from more than 0 to 5 wt % of a stabilizer composition. Process for making polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) from polyethylene terephthalate (PET)

A composition comprising a clear thermoplastic blend comprising: (a) a polycarbonate component; and (b) a polyester component comprising (i) a polyester based substantially on 1,4 cyclohexane dimethanol and terephthalic acid monomer units, (ii) copolymers polyester based substantially on 1,4 cyclohexane dimethanol and terephthalic acid monomer units and modified with up to 25 mol % of copolymerizable acid and/or diol monomers, and (iii) combinations thereof. The polycarbonate component and the polyester component are present in sufficient proportions to form a molding composition capable of being molded into an article that exhibits transparency and structural integrity after the article is exposed to a caustic aqueous environment for at least 70 hours. The invention also relates to articles made from the composition, methods for making the compositions, and methods for using articles.

Transparent polycarbonate-polyester blends with improved performance under caustic aqueous environments

A composition comprising a polysiloxane polycarbonate block copolymer; a cycloaliphatic polyester; and a polycarbonate that is different from the polycarbonate block copolymer, having a weight average molecular weight of less than about 20,000 Daltons. The compositions have high flow at low temperatures and good impact properties. The compositions are useful for the manufacture of components for handheld electronic devises such as cellular telephones.

Polyester-polycarbonate compositions, methods of manufacture, and methods of use

Polymeric blends for optical devices and method of manufacture thereof

A stabilized thermoplastic resin composition is disclosed which comprises structural units derived at least one substituted or unsubstituted polycarbonate, at least one substituted or unsubstituted polyester and a combination of at least two quenchers, wherein said quencher is selected from a group consisting of phosphorus compound, carboxylic acid, derivates of carboxylic acids, epoxy functional polymers and boron compound. A method of substantially eliminating comets and veins in an optical film or sheet comprises annealing the film or sheet comprising a polymeric alloy to a temperature proximate to a glass transition temperature of a polymeric resin contained in the alloy. A composition comprises a first polymeric resin in an amount of about 1 to about 99 wt %; and a second polymeric resin in an amount of about 1 to about 99 wt %, wherein the polymeric resins are treated with a deforming force or with an energy effective to produce a polymeric alloy having a birefringence retardation of greater than or equal to about 350 nanometers or with a birefringence retardation of less than or equal to about 150 nanometers.
