Concepts and technologies are disclosed related to allocation of hardware resources for virtual network function (VNF) deployment at sites based on templates. A design template defines hardware resources to allocate for a service, and a deployment policy defines deployment of the virtual network functions (VNFs) associated with the service to the hardware resources. Hardware resources are allocated at one or more sites based on the design template to host VNFs for the service, and VNFs are deployed to the hardware resources based upon the deployment policy.

Allocating hardware resources for virtual network function deployment at sites based on templates

According to one aspect of the concepts and technologies disclosed herein, a cloud computing system can include a load adaptation architecture framework that performs operations for orchestrating and managing one or more services that may operate within at least one of layers 4 through 7 of the Open Systems Interconnection ('OSP') communication model. The cloud computing system also can include a virtual resource layer. The virtual resource layer can include a virtual network function that provides, at least in part, a service. The cloud computing system also can include a hardware resource layer. The hardware resource layer can include a hardware resource that is controlled by a virtualization layer. The virtualization layer can cause the virtual network function to be instantiated on the hardware resource so that the virtual network function can be used to support the service.

Load adaptation architecture framework for orchestrating and managing services in a cloud computing system

Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for providing a network virtualization policy management system. An event relating to a service can be detected. A first policy that defines allocation of hardware resources to host the virtual network functions can be obtained, as can a second policy that defines deployment of the virtual network functions to the hardware resources. The hardware resources can be allocated based upon the first policy and the virtual network functions can be deployed to the hardware resources based upon the second policy.

Network virtualization policy management system

On-demand quality of service guarantees are provided in a wireless network environment. The system determines an on-demand quality of service for a segment of a communication path between a user equipment communicating with a radio access network connected to a core network and an external network connected to the core network. The system then determines if the on-demand quality of service for the segment meets a quality of service requirement. If the on-demand quality of service for the segment does not meet the quality of service requirement, the system identifies an alternate communication path between the user equipment and the external network, wherein the alternate communication path differs from the communication path. The system can then setup the alternate communication path for traffic between the user equipment and the external network.

System and method for quality of service in a wireless network environment

Faults are managed in a virtual machine network. Failure of operation of a virtual machine among a plurality of different types of virtual machines operating in the virtual machine network is detected. The virtual machine network operates on network elements connected by transport mechanisms. A cause of the failure of the operation of the virtual machine is determined, and recovery of the virtual machine is initiated based on the determined cause of the failure.

Methods, systems, and computer readable storage devices for managing faults in a virtual machine network

Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for providing on-demand quality of service guarantees in a wireless network environment. The system determines an on-demand quality of service for a segment of a communication path between a user equipment communicating with a radio access network connected to a core network and an external network connected to the core network. The system then determines if the on-demand quality of service for the segment meets a quality of service requirement. Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method in which first performance data and second performance data are obtained for a first virtual machine and a second virtual machine on a network, the performance data is analyzed, performance of the first virtual machine is predicted, and a performance trend for the first virtual machine is determined. Performance of the second virtual machine is predicted in accordance with analyzing of the second performance data and a potential transfer of execution of an application from the first virtual machine to the second virtual machine. Execution of the application is transferred to the second virtual machine after determining an expected improvement in execution of the application relative to the first virtual machine. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Data analytics for adaptive networks

A communication device including a non-SIM based client is authenticated for accessing an IMS network. An internet protocol identity is received from the communication device. The internet protocol identity is not associated with a SIM. Authentication information associated with the internet protocol identity is requested and received from the communication device. A determination is made whether the communication device is authenticated based on the internet protocol identity and the authentication information. If the communication device is determined to be authenticated, the communication device is allowed access to the IMS network.

Non-SIM access to cellular networks

A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, identifying a request from a femtocell located at a customer premises to receive a requested service of subscribed services related to a subscriber account that identifies an availability of the requested service to the femtocell. Authentication information is determined, provided by way of the femtocell and a message is provided to a server including the authentication information and an identifier of a customer premises device located at the customer premises. An authentication process to authenticate the femtocell is initiated responsive to the request, wherein the server identifies the subscriber account based on the identifier of the customer premises device, and wherein the femtocell is authenticated based on information associated with the subscriber account. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Apparatus and method of automatically provisioning a femtocell

Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for providing a network virtualization policy management system. An event relating to a service can be detected, and virtual machines and virtual network functions that provide the service can be identified. A first policy that defines allocation of hardware resources to host the virtual machines and the virtual network functions can be obtained, as can a second policy that defines deployment of the virtual machines and the virtual network functions to the hardware resources. The hardware resources can be allocated based upon the first policy and the virtual machines and the virtual network functions can be deployed to the hardware resources based upon the second policy.
