A spray boom of a spray boom assembly includes a boom frame and a spray section coupled to the boom frame. The spray section includes an elongated spray pipe configured to be fluidly coupled to a fluid source and a nozzle coupled to the spray pipe. An actuator is coupled at one end to the boom frame and at an opposite end to the spray section. The actuator controllably extends and retracts to move the spray pipe and nozzle between a raised position and a lowered position.

Sectional boom height control of individual section for sprayers and system thereof

An agricultural sprayer includes at least one nozzle configure to receive a fluid and direct atomized fluid to an agricultural surface in a dispersal area. A radio-frequency (RF) transmitter is disposed to generate an RF signal that passes through the dispersal area. The RF signal is detectably changed when interacting with droplets of the atomized fluid. A first RF receiver is disposed to receive the RF signal after the RF signal passes through the dispersal area and provides an output indicative of the RF signal. A controller is coupled to the first RF receiver and is configured to detect plugging of the at least one nozzle based on the output of the first RF receiver.

Plugged spray nozzle detection using radio-frequency transmissions

An agricultural spreader includes at least one delivery conduit that carries material to be spread from a bin to an exit end of the delivery conduit under the influence of air blown through the delivery conduit by a fan. A deflector is mounted proximate the exit end of the delivery pipe and deflects the material onto agricultural field in a dispersal area. A radio frequency (RF) transmitter is disposed to generate an RF signal that passes through the dispersal area. The RF signal is detectably changed when interacting with the material passing through the dispersal area. An RF receiver is disposed to receive the RF signal after the RF signal passes through the dispersal area and provides an output indicative of the RF signal. A controller is coupled to RF receiver and detects plugging of the delivery conduit based on the output of the RF receiver.

Plugged sprayer/spreader detection using electromagnetic radiation

A mobile machine includes a sensor that generates a sensor signal indicative of ozone gas concentration. A power cable proximate the mobile machine, is identified based on the sensor signal. An avoidance action, is identified in response to determining that the power cable is proximate the mobile machine, and a control signal is generated based on the identified avoidance action.

Overhead power cable detection and avoidance

Wind speed, wind direction, and field boundary information are detected and used to identify a monitor area indicative of a likely overspray condition. Control signals are generated to obtain information from a sprayed substance sensor, in the monitor area. When an overspray condition is detected, an overspraying signal from the sprayed substance sensor indicating the detected overspray condition is received and overspray processing is performed, based upon the received overspray signal.

Thermal imaging drift sensor for agricultural spraying

Wind speed, wind direction, and field boundary information are detected and used to identify a monitor area indicative of a likely overspray condition. Control signals are generated to deploy an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), with a sprayed substance sensor, to the monitor area. The UAV is controlled to reposition it, as a spraying machine moves through the field being sprayed. When an overspray condition is detected, an overspraying signal from the UAV indicating the detected overspray condition is received and overspray processing is performed, based upon the received overspray signal.
