Method for a User Entity, UE, being adapted to transmit uplink data according to a NR TDD scheme, with a NR bases station, gNB, the UE being further adapted to transmit HARQ-ACK information, being an ACK or a NACK for received data on a downlink channel and a Scheduling Request, SR, may be provided comprising an indication of data or no data to be pending for transmittal on the up-link. The method comprises-establishing if HARQ-ACK info is available in a slot (), —establishing if an SR-PUCCH is present in the slot (), —if no SR-PUCCH present in the slot, generating () a SR, —appending () the SR to the HARQ-ACK, —transmitting () the SR appended to the HARQ-ACK.

Aperiodic scheduling request

Method for a base station communicating with a plurality of User Entities, UE, according to a Time Division Duplex, TDD, access scheme via antennas, the base station being adapted for receiving Scheduling Requests, SRs, from the UEs, a SR indicating a request for scheduling an uplink transmission from a UE. The base station is communicating over a plurality of antennas associated with respective wide beams and narrow beams, a plurality of wide beams covering respective areas, whereby for each wide beam at least one narrow beam form a joint area with a wide beam. The TDD scheme involving at least a Physical Uplink Scheduling Control Channel, PUSCH, and including periodically appearing SR occasions, the base station being adapted for receiving and decoding a transmission from a UE and establishing whether a SR from at least one UE is received in a periodic occasion.

SR handling for analog beamforming

A method performed by a first network node of a wireless communication network for handling uplink signals sent by a UE. The wireless communication network comprises a serving network node responsible for transmitting downlink signals to the UE, and a non-serving network node capable of receiving uplink signals sent by the UE. The non-serving network node is the first network node and the serving network node is a second network node of the communication network, or vice versa. The method comprises receiving an uplink signal from the UE, measuring signal quality on the received uplink signal, and receiving signal quality information from the second network node regarding signal quality measured by the second network node on the uplink signal received by the second network node, to detect imbalances in experienced signal quality between the first network node and the second network node.

Methods and network nodes in a wireless communication network for handling of uplink signals sent by a user equipment

A radio base station (RBS) and a method performed by an RBS for scheduling uplink resources to at least one UE are provided. The RBS comprises at least two receiving antenna branches and the RBS is operable in a radio communication network. The method comprises receiving transmissions from the at least one UE by means of the at least two receiving antenna branches; and determining at least one parameter relating to signal quality of the received transmissions. The method further comprises determining a diversity gain of the at least two receiving antenna branches, wherein the diversity gain is determined based on the determined parameter(s); and scheduling uplink transmissions for the at least one UE based on the determined diversity gain.

Radio base station and a method therein for scheduling uplink resources

A method for scheduling enhanced uplink traffic in a cell in a cellular communication system comprises estimating of a rise-over-thermal measure for the cell. A momentary total load in the cell is computed based on the estimated rise-over-thermal measure. A load headroom is determined from at least a maximum allowed load and the momentary load. Future enhanced uplink traffic is scheduled in dependence of the determined load headroom. A degree of underutilization of enhanced uplink traffic grants in the cell is established. The scheduling comprises overbooking of enhanced uplink traffic in dependence on the established underutilization degree. A network node comprises corresponding functionalities.

Scheduling in cellular communication systems

A method in a base station, the method comprising, for a transmission time interval on the control channel: if an absolute grant is scheduled, transmitting the absolute grant; if an absolute grant is not scheduled, investigating whether at least one UE in the cell is configured for receiving on the control channel, and if this is not the case, refraining from transmitting; and if an absolute grant is not scheduled and at least one UE in the cell is configured for receiving on the control channel, the method further comprising at least one of: (i) transmitting an absolute grant for a non-configured UE in the cell; and (ii) selecting an arbitrary configured UE in the cell and transmitting an absolute grant, which was previously transmitted at an earlier transmission time interval, to the selected UE.

A method for adjusting a timing offset value (CO) for a receiver (Node-B) is provided, the receiver being adapted to controlling and receiving reverse radio Sink transmissions from a transmitter (UE) according to predetermined response time requirements. A method and apparatus for operating a high speed uplink base station is provided. The base station is adapted to communicate with a first type of user entities and a second type of user entities. The first type of user entities communicate in a first transmission interval and the second type of user entities communicate in a second transmission interval.

TTI channel arrangement and UE to channel assignment

A method in a base station, and a base station, adapted for scheduling and receiving uplink transmissions from user entities and further forwarding data related to such transmissions to a core network, wherein the base station being adapted for transmitting serving grant signals for allowing a user entity to transmit uplink transmissions at a given maximum granted data rate, at least at a subsequent transmission opportunity. An uplink transmission from a user entity may be responded to by the base station by a not-acknowledge, NACK, or an acknowledge, ACK, signal. The method comprises the steps of: detecting the rate of an uplink transmission; detecting whether an overload situation exists, and if the rate exceeds the granted rate and an overload situation exists, sending an ACK to the user entity without forwarding any uplink data to the core network.

Burst avoidance in uplink systems

A method for a user entity (UE) transmitting data said data being receivable by at least a serving node (B) and a non serving node (B); the user entity (UE) being adapted for receiving a first signal (ABS GRNT E-AGCH) () from a serving node (B) granting the user entity permission to transmit at a given signalling rate; the user entity (UE) being adapted for receiving a second signal () from a non-serving node (B) instructing the user entity to limit its signalling rate (DOWN E-RGCH). The user entity (UE) is being adapted to transmit data packets and associating a third signal (HAPPY,) and the user entity (UE) is being adapted to transmit data packets and associating a fourth signal (NOT HAPPY,) with the data packet transmission indicating the user entity wishing to being granted permission to use a higher signalling rate than it is currently being permitted to use by the serving node (B). The user entity is being adapted for issuing a signalling rate limitation signal (UE RATE LMT,) to the serving node, indicating the user entity having limited its signalling rate signal below the signalling rate granted to it by the serving node B. There is moreover provided a method for a Node B, which as a non-serving Node B (B) is transmitting on the E-RGCH, a situation signal (E-RGCH CEASE) being indicative of a cease ceased&#x2033; of an interference situation.

Enhanced uplink user entity rate limitation signalling

It is presented a power controller which is adapted to be coupled to a fixed node of a cellular network, wherein at least one user equipment is adapted to be associated with the fixed node. The power controller comprises: a signal to interference ratio, SIR, determiner arranged to determine a maximum SIR target for each of the at least one user equipment, which maximum SIR target is arranged to limit maximum transmission power of the at least one user equipment; wherein the determiner determines a maximum SIR target for each of the at least one user equipment directly or indirectly based on the number of user equipments in the cell of each respective user equipment. A corresponding method, computer program and computer program product are also presented.

Determining a maximum SIR target for power control in a cellular network

A telecommunication system comprises a radio network controller (RNC), and a Node-B (NB) for enabling wireless communication with a user terminal (UE). The RNC establishes an enhanced dedicated transport channel (E-DCH) which enables uplink data traffic with a determined maximum data rate from the user terminal (UE) to the NB. The RNC further establishes a high speed DL shared channel (HS-DSCH) which enables downlink data traffic with a determined maximum data rate from the NB to the user terminal. The NB comprises a HSDPA scheduler (HS-S) scheduling the data rate for the DL data traffic via the HS-DSCH and a EUL scheduler (EUL-S) scheduling the maximum data rate for the UL data traffic via the E-DCH. The NB exchanges data rate information between the HS-S and the EUL-S. Furthermore, the NB monitors the quotient (Q) between DL data rate and the UL data rate. When Q fulfils determined traffic conditions the HSDPA scheduler (HS-S) and/or the EUL scheduler (EUL-S) changes the allocation and/or the priority handling of the UL and/or the DL resources.

Allocation and priority handling of uplink and downlink resources

The present invention relates to a method for grant violation detection in an enhanced uplink (UL) telecommunication system. According to the method a radio network controller (RNC) establishes a first enhanced UL transport channel (E-DCH) which enables uplink data traffic with a certain data rate from a user terminal UE at least to a first base station. At least a first downlink transmission is performed to the user terminal UE including a first E-DCH. A Node B NB detects the scheduled data rate on which the user terminal UE transmits and further controls if the scheduled data rate detected is higher than the maximum data rate defined by the first E-DCH channel scheduled grant. If this is the case the Node B NB performs at least a second following downlink transmission including the first E-DCH channel scheduled grant.

Enhanced UL rate violation detection

The invention relates to a wireless telecommunication system for voice and data packet transmission. The system comprises a transmitting unit for transmitting voice and data packets to a receiving unit. The transmitting unit comprises a first discard timer set for a first time period and arranged to start when a first data packet is transmitted from the transmitting unit. The transmitting unit is arranged to suspend the first discard timer when a second power is lower than or equal to a selected second threshold level.

Timer handling in a transmitter in a telecommunication system for voice and data packet transmission

The present invention relates to a method and arrangement for downlink power adjustment in a base station () comprising at least two similar hardware units: a first unit () and a second unit (), in a communications network when moving a resource from said first unit to said second unit. The method comprises configuring said resource, providing a sample of a power level, transferring said power sample from said first unit to said second unit, and controlling the power level on the second unit towards a power value provided as a power level with turned off output power on said second unit.
