A hydraulic and electromechanical service and parking disc brake may have a service braking system, having at least one hydraulic actuator, a parking braking system having at least one electromechanical actuator transmission irreversibility, a control system connected to the service braking system and to the parking system and a user interface. A translational member of the electromechanical actuator is restrained to be rotationally integral with respect to the caliper via an anti-rotation shape coupling with a guide portion which is integral with the caliper and arranged on a rear side of the translational member, opposite to the free end.

Hydraulic and electromechanical service and parking disc brake

A brake caliper for a disc brake system has a caliper body straddling the disc and having a first elongated portion facing a first braking surface of the brake disc, and a second elongated portion, opposite to the first elongated portion and facing a second braking surface of the brake disc opposite to the first braking surface. A bridge connects the first elongated portion and the second elongated portion to each other. The brake caliper has at least one pair of opposite brake pads, each brake pad having friction material and a support plate supporting the friction material, the support plate having a plate back facing a respective elongated portion of the first and second elongated portions. A detecting device for detecting a biasing force directed in axial direction is interposed between the plate back of the second brake pad and the second elongated portion of the caliper body.

Brake caliper of disc brake, disc brake system and detecting device

A brake caliper for a disc brake has a caliper body straddling a brake disc. The caliper body has a thrust device housing accommodating a thrust device configured to apply a bias on at least one brake pad to abut the at least one brake pad against braking surfaces of the brake disc. The thrust device is operatively connected to a translating screw nut. The translating screw nut is operatively connected to a worm. The worm is operatively connected to a gearbox and rotatably supported by a screw thrust bearing configured to apply for the worm an axial reaction. At least one part of the gearbox is rotatably supported by at least one gearbox thrust bearing configured to apply for the at least one part of the gearbox a radial reaction. The screw thrust bearing and the gearbox thrust bearing are a same thrust bearing.

Brake caliper for disc brake

A brake caliper of a disc brake has a caliper body straddling a brake disc and having a thrust device housing accommodating a thrust device operatively connected to a translating screw nut. The translating screw nut is operatively connected to a worm. The worm is operatively connected to a gearbox and rotatably supported by a screw thrust bearing configured to apply for the worm an axial reaction. At least one part of the gearbox is rotatably supported by a gearbox thrust bearing configured to apply for the at least one part of the gearbox a radial reaction. The thrust bearing has at least one radially inner slewing ring and the gearbox has an epicyclic gear having a fixed gear or an internally toothed body cooperating with at least one planet gear rotatably supported about at least one planet gear pin connected to the at least one radially inner slewing ring to transmit action of the gearbox to the worm by the at least one radially inner slewing ring.

An electro-hydraulic actuator for actuating a brake caliper may have an electric motor with a drive shaft, a transforming mechanism and a first housing to accommodate the transforming mechanism and support a second housing of the electric motor. The transforming mechanism may include a reduction gear to demultiply the rotary motion of the drive shaft. The reduction gear may have a crown with inner toothing in one piece and that is rotationally locked. The crown may have a front portion directly shape-coupled to and inserted in the second housing of the electric motor and a connection integral with the first housing of the transforming mechanism for a precise centering between the electric motor and the reduction gear with respect to the axis of the drive shaft and with respect to a central axis of the reduction gear.

Electro-hydraulic actuator for brake

An electromechanical brake caliper () includes a caliper body () and an electromechanical actuator (). The electromechanical actuator includes a screw () and a nut screw () coupled to it, so that the nut screw () engages a movable thrust element () by coupling surfaces (C, C' and C) that cooperate with each other in the thrust relationship. This configuration allows oscillation of the relative nut screw () with respect to the movable thrust element () about a single transverse axis (k), impeding the relative rotation between the nut screw () and the piston () about a longitudinal axis (y) of the thrust element.

Brake pad and caliper for a disc brake

A caliper for a disc-brake includes two side walls at a distance from each other which delimit a space to accommodate a portion of a brake disc. The side walls are connected to each other by a connecting structure which straddles the disc space. Each of the side walls delimits at least one seating capable of accommodating a pad. The caliper comprises a thrust to clamp the pads against the brake disc. The thrust is secured to the side walls in such a way that the side walls absorb the entire clamping force and the seatings are capable of securing the pads so that the side walls also absorb the entire braking moment. The connecting structure comprises arc-shaped shells, connected so as to be integral with both the side walls. The slenderness of the shells expressed as the ratio of thickness to circumferential extension relative to an axis of rotation of the brake disc is less than 17/100.
