A method includes, in at least one aspect, receiving, at both an input node of a first input stage and in input node of a second input stage, a single-ended voltage signal; providing, by at least one of the first input stage or the second input stage, inductive degeneration to the single-ended voltage signal; converting an output from the first input stage into a first single-ended current signal; converting an output from the second input stage into a second single-ended current signal; and outputting, by an output stage, a differential output including the first single-ended current signal and the second single-ended current signal.

Embodiments of the present invention may be used to generate oscillating signals. One embodiment of the present invention includes a circuit that receives a differential signal to be divided. The circuit converts the differential signal into an injection signal. The injection signal is coupled to an oscillator, and the oscillator generates an output signal having a frequency that is a fraction of the frequency of the differential input signal. In another embodiment, the present invention includes a MIMO wireless communication system. The MIMO system may use the divider circuit to divide a local oscillator signal with reduced common mode distortion.

Circuits and methods for generating oscillating signals

A circuit includes an oscillation generation circuit, a distribution circuit, and a transceiver circuit. The oscillation generation circuit is configured to generate a first oscillation signal having a first frequency. The distribution circuit includes a voltage to current stage, a transmission portion and a current to voltage stage. The voltage to current stage is configured to receive the first oscillation signal, and convert the first oscillation signal into a current form. The transmission portion is configured to transmit the first oscillation signal in the current form. The current to voltage stage is configured to receive the first oscillation signal in the current form and generate a second oscillation signal having a sub-harmonic frequency of the first frequency, such as half of the first frequency. The transceiver circuit is configured to operate in a frequency band responsive to the second oscillation signal.

Method and apparatus for local oscillation distribution

Devices and methods capable of correcting for distortion are disclosed. For example, a method for compensating for non-idealities in a frequency-conversion circuit having a high-frequency input side separated from a baseband side by a passive mixer is presented. The method includes injecting a plurality of calibration signals in the baseband side to determine cross-talk between an In-phase (I) portion of the baseband side and a Quadrature (Q) portion of the baseband side to produce a first measurement &#x393;and a second measurement &#x393;, synthesizing a crosstalk compensation filter g(&#x3c9;) based on the first measurement &#x393;and the second measurement &#x393;, and applying the crosstalk compensation filter g(&#x3c9;) to an output of the frequency-conversion circuit.

Baseband filter calibration methods and systems

In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a first block configured to decompose an input signal into a positive component and a negative component. The apparatus further includes a second block configured to generate a mixer positive driver component from the positive component and a mixer negative driver component from the negative component and input the mixer positive driver component and the negative driver component into a mixer for a wireless transmitter.

Systems and methods for providing single-ended to differential signal conversion are described. A single-ended voltage signal may be received from an input of a low noise amplifier. The single-ended voltage signal may be coupled to a first input stage to match a source impedance of the single-ended voltage signal to a predetermined output impedance. The single-ended voltage signal with the predetermined output impedance may be output as a first voltage signal to a first converting stage. An input bias voltage may be provided to the first converting stage to bias the first voltage signal. The biased first voltage signal may be output as a first differential-ended current signal to an output of the low noise amplifier.

A scalable N&#xd7;N single-chip dual-band MIMO RF transceiver module compatible with the IEEE 802.11n standard for WLAN applications is provided. A modular design approach allows a transceiver of substantially any dimension to be created on a single chip that may be easily integrated with other system components. An N&#xd7;N MIMO transceiver module includes N substantially identical transceiver blocks and a common local oscillator. Each transceiver block includes transmitters and receivers for transmitting and receiving signals in two distinct frequency bands. The transceiver blocks further include one or more local oscillator signal repeaters for receiving one or more local oscillator signals and forwarding the one or more local oscillator signals to subsequent transceiver blocks.
