Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a user equipment (UE) may wake up from a sleep mode of a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle based on receipt of uplink data. The UE may determine if an elapsed time between a prior receipt of one or more reference signals and an uplink transmission to the base station after waking up from the sleep mode is less than a threshold time value. If the elapsed time is less than the threshold time value, the UE may transmit an uplink transmission associated with the received uplink data prior to receiving one or more reference signals that may be used to update transmission parameters for uplink transmissions. If the elapsed time is at or above the threshold value, the UE may wait to receive the one or more reference signals and update the transmission parameters prior to the uplink transmission.

Discontinuous reception wakeup techniques

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may measure a first energy level of a demodulation reference signal (DMRS). The UE may measure a second energy level of at least one of a tracking reference signal (TRS) or a synchronization signal block (SSB). The UE may determine, based at least in part on the first energy level and the second energy level, a DMRS signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). The UE may perform, based at least in part on the DMRS SNR, channel estimation for a physical channel associated with a communication to determine an estimated channel. The UE may perform, based at least in part on the estimated channel, demodulation processing for the communication. Numerous other aspects are described.

Techniques for demodulation reference signal based signal-to-noise ratio for demodulation processing

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine an actual power delay profile (PDP) associated with a channel between the UE and a base station, wherein the actual PDP indicates an averaged power level of the channel over a period of time. The UE may determine whether a channel estimation mode switching event is satisfied. The UE may switch, based at least in part on the channel estimation mode switching event being satisfied, between a first channel estimation mode based at least in part on the actual PDP and a second channel estimation mode based at least in part on a template PDP. Numerous other aspects are described.

Switching between channel estimation modes at a user equipment

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may operate in a dual-connectivity (DC) configuration, and may measure signals from more than one radio access technology (RAT). The UE may receive a first signal power for a first RAT and a second signal power for a second RAT. The UE may determine a common gain state for the first RAT and the second RAT based on the first signal power and the second signal power. The UE may then apply the common gain state to a first receiver chain within the UE for the first RAT and to a second receiver chain within the UE for the second RAT, where the first receiver chain and the second receiver chain share at least one shared low noise amplifier (LNA).

Common automatic gain control across multiple radio access technologies

A device may selectively listen for a tracking reference signal (TRS) during connected mode discontinuous reception (CDRx) based on whether the device is to switch between repeaters of a base station (such as during travel). A device may determine whether the device is in a high speed train (HST) scenario (such as based on a difference in frequency errors generated using a synchronization signal block (SSB) and generated using a TRS, based on a trajectory of a frequency error or a frequency error difference over time, based on instantaneous frequency errors, etc.). When the device is in a HST scenario, the device listens for a TRS during CDRx, and the device generates a frequency error using the TRS. When the device is not in a HST scenario, the device prevents listening for a TRS during CDRx (with a SSB received during CDRx to be used to generate a frequency error).

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may determine, based at least in part on two or more measurements on a channel taken at different points in time, that the channel is classified as static. The wireless communication device may perform at least one optimization based at least in part on determining that the channel is classified as static. For example, the at least one optimization may include modifying a channel state feedback procedure, reducing a periodicity associated with a measurement gap, modifying a filtering associated with measurements of the channel, reducing a threshold associated with beam switching, and/or refraining from performing at least one filtering at a radio frequency receiver of the wireless communication device. Detecting static channels

Aspects of the disclosure relate to a user equipment (UE) configured to schedule resource management procedures including measurements and tracking loop procedures. In some examples, the UE includes at least one antenna pair and two or more receivers. The UE may be configured to determine a plurality of combinations of antenna pairs and component carriers, where each component carrier is associated with a particular frequency. The UE may further be configured to schedule measurements/tracking loop procedures to available receivers first and utilize a selection algorithm to select combinations of antenna pairs and component carriers and map the selected combinations to the remaining of the available receivers to perform tracking loop procedures. Scheduling network resources in wireless communication devices

Wireless communications systems and methods related to SSB measurements are provided. A wireless communication device determines a first measurement for a first synchronization signal block (SSB) and further determines a measurement cycle frequency for performing a SSB measurement based on the first measurement. The wireless communication device performs the SSB measurement based on the measurement cycle frequency.

Systems, methods and apparatus select a code book based on channel conditions and performance of a demodulator or demapper in a wireless receiver. The method may include determining that the receiver in a first wireless communication apparatus is configured for iteratively processing signals received from a channel, selecting a code book for use in communicating over the channel based on conditions affecting transmission of the signals through the channel and performance information associated with a demapper in the receiver, and identifying the selected code book in one or more control channels transmitted to a second wireless communication apparatus.
