A device for handling mandrel rods in a rolling plant for rolling seamless tubes comprises an inserter. The inserter moves a mandrel rod in a rolling direction such that the mandrel rod, starting from an initial state, is pushed into a tube blank situated upstream of the mandrel rod. A retaining device has a fixing unit that is movable along the rolling line and is designed to temporarily hold the mandrel rod at an action point at a rear end of the mandrel rod and to carry out a working stroke. The mandrel rod can be inserted into the rolling mill in the rolling direction and pulled out of the rolling mill counter to the rolling direction by the retaining device. The retaining device is designed such that the starting position of the fixing unit lies between the two ends of the mandrel rod in the initial state.

Device and method for handling mandrel rods in a tube rolling mill

A rolling mill for solid elongated products, defining a rolling axis, including first and second rolling stations. Each station includes a load-bearing structure, a removable roll-holder cartridge with three rolling rolls movable radially and rotating around spaced rotational axes, and a roll having a vertical rotational axis. A system synchronizes mechanical adjustment of the rolls. Three actuators mount on the load-bearing structure; three gear motor groups connect to the rolls by single extensions. The second station rolls are rotated 60° from the first stations. The rolls with a vertical axis of the first and second stations are arranged on opposite sides of the rolling axis. All rolling stations allow lateral extraction of roll-holder cartridges from the same side of the rolling mill. The stations on the extraction side have actuators movable relative to the load-bearing structure. The stations with vertical rolls arranged on the opposite side have fixed actuators.

At least one rolling station comprises a fixed structure, a roll-holder cartridgeand three actuators. The cartridge is connected removably to the fixed structure and comprises three rolling rolls. Each of the actuators is able, during use, to act on one of the rolls so as to impart a radial force suitable for rolling the article. The rolling millaccording to the invention is characterized in that the three actuators are of the single-stroke type and are arranged so that, when the pistons of two actuators are completely retracted to the end-of-travel stop of the working stroke, a path P is created free from obstacles and parallel to the axis of the third actuator. The path P which is created is such that allows the cartridge to pass out laterally on the opposite side to that where the third actuator is situated.

Rolling mill for long articles

The invention relates to a rolling mill defining a rolling axis and comprising rolling stations. At least one rolling station comprises a fixed structure, a roll-holder cartridge and three actuators. The cartridge is connected removably to the fixed structure and comprises three rolling rolls. The rolls are movable radially and rotatable about three respective axes. Three actuators of the single-stroke type are mounted on the fixed structure and comprise pistons movable along respective radial axes to impart a force on the rolls for rolling an article. Three gearmotors provide the rolls, by means of spindles, with the torque for feeding the article along the rolling axis. When two pistons are completely retracted, a path is created free from obstacles allowing the cartridge to pass out laterally. Then, one spindle may be subject to a rotation-translation to be removed from the path, the respective gearmotor being fixed on its base.

A re-turning plant for rollers of rolling mills of the type comprising at least one roller stand and a plurality of rollers mounted to respective arms pivoting in the plane of the roller stand about respective pins that are fixed to the roller stand. The rollers are positioned within the roller stand in a work position in which work surfaces of the rollers determine the outer profile of a body to be rolled. The re-turning plant comprises a support structure configured to support the whole roller stand in a turning position, a tool-holding device that can be displaced in contact with the work surfaces of each roller fixed in the roller stand and mandrel means with means that can be rotatably coupled to each roller of the plurality of rollers fixed to the roller stand to rotate the same substantially in the work position.

Re-turning plant for rollers of a roller mill

The present invention relates to a system and method for rolling a seamless tube. The plant comprises a main rolling mill with adjustable rolls for mandrel-rolling a semi-finished tube. The plant also comprises a fixed-roll extracting/reducing mill positioned downstream of the main rolling mill. The extracting/reducing mill is designed to extract the semi-finished tube from the mandrel and reduce its diameter to a predetermined value close to that desired for the finished tube. Finally, the plant comprises a adjustable-roll sizing mill. The sizing mill is positioned downstream of the extracting/reducing mill. This sizing mill is designed to adjust the radial position of the rolls and define the diameter of the outgoing tube.
