A getter pump is described. The getter pump has a casing and a getter cartridge mounted within the casing. Each cartridge has a linear central support and spaced getter elements mounted on the linear central support. Each cartridge is positioned along a plane orthogonal to the revolution axis and intersecting the midpoint of a linear central support. The angle formed by each positioning plane with its respective linear central support is comprised between 35&#xb0; and 75&#xb0;.

The present invention relates to a gas fed water-heater comprising a double wall container () inside which a burner () and a tank () of the water to be heated are arranged. At least in the portion (') adjacent to the burner () of the interspace () between the two walls of said container () is placed a thermoinsulating system comprising an inner layer () of glass wool or rock wool and an outer layer () formed of at least a one vacuum panel, which comprises an envelope which encloses inert material powder with an average size of the particles lower than 100 nanometers.

A process is provided for production of a refrigerating circuit comprising non-evaporable getter material, wherein said getter material, previously introduced into the same circuit, is heated to a temperature of at least 200&deg; C. during or immediately after the circuit evacuating step, at a residual atmospheric gas pressure of not less than 10 mbar, before introduction of the mixture of cooling fluids and before the circuit sealing. A device for maintaining a vacuum in a thermally insulating jacket is described. The device comprises a container formed of a gas-tight material, preferably aluminum, which has an opening to the atmosphere. Inside the container is a first pellet comprising a powder of a Ba-Li alloy getter material. Arranged above, and completely covering, the first pellet is a second pellet comprising a powder of a drying material, optionally including the oxide of a noble metal and a material to prevent contraction of the drier. A process for manufacturing such a device is also described in which the first pellet is obtained by compression of its constituent powders at a pressure between about 30 bar and 1000 bar.
