Systems and methods are described herein for repairing a block of pixels in image data that was encoding using a lossy type of compression. In one aspect, it may be determined that a first pixel block within a first frame of image data was encoded using lossy compression, where the first pixel block comprising a plurality of pixels. Next, it may be determined that the plurality of pixels in the first pixel block in a second frame of the image data are below a threshold difference as compared to the plurality of pixels within the first frame of the image data. Responsive to the determining, the first pixel block may be re-encoded in the second frame or a subsequent frame of the image data using lossless compression.

Lossy block repair

Systems and methods are described herein for implementing a hybrid codec to compress and decompress image data using both lossy and lossless compression. In one example encoding process, it may be determined whether a first block of pixels of a frame of image data contains an edge. A type of compression by which to encode the first block may be selected based on that determination. The first block may be compressed using the selected type of compression. At least one second value associated with the first block of pixels may be set to indicate at least oof the compressed value or the type of compression used to compress the first block.

Hybrid codec

Systems and methods are described for replacing image data from a virtual machine with local image data, such as for a video application. In some aspects, a method for replacing image data in a video application may include obtaining first image data from a camera connected to the user device and transmitting the first image data to a virtual machine that executes the video application. The user device may receive a video application image from the virtual machine that includes an indication that identifies the first image data. The user device may identify the first image data in the video application image based on the indication and replace it with second image data obtained from the camera device to produce a modified video application image. The client device may render the modified video application image in a virtual computing environment displayed on the user device.

Using local video stream as an overlay for video camera redirection in remote desktop

Methods, systems, and computer-readable media for dynamic interface synchronization for virtualized graphics processing are disclosed. A GPU interface synchronization request is sent from a compute instance to a graphics processing unit (GPU) server via a network. The GPU server comprises a virtual GPU attached to the compute instance and implemented using at least one physical GPU. Based at least in part on the GPU interface synchronization request, a shared version of a GPU interface is determined for use with the compute instance and the GPU server. Program code of the shared version of the GPU interface is installed on the compute instance and on the GPU server. Using the shared version of the GPU interface, the compute instance sends instructions to the virtual GPU over the network, and the virtual GPU generates GPU output associated with the instructions.
