A protective sports helmet includes a cap structure having a plurality of structurally independent cap portions and mutually connected to flexible interconnecting members such that the helmet has at least one overall configuration of minimum dimensions when not worn, with the parts of the cap mutually adjacent to each other, separate from an operating condition having maximum dimensions when worn. The parts of the cap are held together by interconnecting members in positions at a suitable distance from each other configured to enclose a user's head. The portions include corresponding sections each extending continuously between the frontal and occipital extremities, of longitudinal extent between those extremities which predominates in comparison with their transverse extent, the sections extending substantially parallel and at a distance from each other so that in the configuration having the minimum dimensions adjacent sections abut each other along lateral sides which transversely bound each section.

A method of manufacturing a polarizing lens for spectacles in which the lens is obtained by injection co-molding the material of the lens on a polarizing optical filter structure is described. The optical filter structure which already has its curved shape received during the stage of filter manufacture is subjected to a thermoforming stage before being inserted into the injection mold in order that the optical filter should obtain the desired curvature for the subsequent stage of injection co-molding the lens onto the optical filter structure.

Method for manufacturing polarised lenses for spectacles and lenses produced using that method

A mount for spectacles includes a first front frame made of plastic and having respective lens-holding rims with a closed contour, to receive and support lens, and a second frame made of metallic material inserted inside the first frame and solidly fixed thereto, the second frame including respective portions in a closed ring shape and extending respectively along the outline of the corresponding lens-holding rim, the mount being produced by stratification of the plastics material of the first frame on the second frame, by applying at least one sheet of plastic material of the first frame on each of the front and rear opposite surfaces of the second frame. At least one section of the second frame, at the location of each lens-holding rim, has a profile extending longitudinally in a sinuous shape, substantially of serpentine configuration, permitting assembly/disassembly of the lens in the lens-holding rim exclusively by resilient deformation.
