A system for detecting and evaluating environmental quantities and events is formed by a detection and evaluation device and a mobile phone, connected through a wireless connection. The device is enclosed in a containment casing housing a support carrying a plurality of inertial sensors and environmental sensors. A processing unit is coupled to the inertial sensors and to the environmental sensors. A wireless connection unit, is coupled to the processing unit and a wired connection port, is coupled to the processing unit. A programming connector is coupled to the processing unit and is configured to couple to an external programming unit to receive programming instructions of the processing unit. A storage structure is coupled to the processing unit and a power-supply unit supplied power in the detection and evaluation device. The mobile phone stores an application, which enables a basicuse mode, an expert use mode, and an advanced use mode.

Device, system, method, and computer product for detecting and evaluating environmental quantities and events with modular approach and variable complexity

A variable-gain amplifier with high input impedance includes positive and negative inputs, positive and negative outputs, first and second differential circuits and first, second and third impedances. The impedances form an impedance bridge between the outputs. The first and second differential circuits each have one input coupled to one of the inputs of the differential amplifier, one input coupled to the impedance bridge, and two outputs connected to the outputs of the differential amplifier. At least one of the impedances is a variable impedance.

Variable-gain differential amplifier

A differential amplifier having a first and second output terminals and receiving an input signal at an input terminal. The amplifier comprises a first amplifier having a first input connected to the input terminal, a second input and a first output connected together to the first output terminal, and a second output connected to the second output terminal, the first amplifier reproducing the input signal on the first output. The amplifier comprises a second amplifier having a first input receiving a reference signal and a second input connected to the output terminals by resistive elements and controlling the provision by the first amplifier on the second output of a signal such that the signals received at the first and second inputs of the second amplifier are equal.
