A fluidic device () is described for locally coating an inner surface of a fluidic channel. The fluidic device () comprises a first (), a second () and a third () fluidic channel intersecting at a common junction (). The first fluidic channel is connectable to a coating fluid reservoir and the third fluidic channel is connectable to a sample fluid reservoir. The fluidic device () further comprises a fluid control means () configured for creating a fluidic flow path for a coating fluid at the common junction () such that, when coating, a coating fluid propagates from the first () to the second () fluidic channel via the common junction () without propagating into the third () fluidic channel. A corresponding method for coating and for sensing also has been disclosed.

Device for surface functionalization and detection

The present disclosure relates to a fluid analyzing device that includes a sensing device for analyzing a fluid sample. The sensing device includes a microchip configured for sensing the fluid sample, and a closed micro-fluidic component for propagating the fluid sample to the microchip. The fluid sample can be provided to the micro-fluidic component via an inlet of the fluid analyzing device. And a vacuum compartment, which is air-tight connected to the sensing device, can create in the micro-fluidic component a suction force suitable for propagating the fluid sample through the micro-fluidic component.

Compact fluid analysis device and method to fabricate

Device and method for performing digital PCR

The present disclosure relates to devices and methods for analyzing a fluid sample. An example device comprises a fluidic substrate comprising a micro-fluidic component embedded therein, for propagating a fluid sample; a needle or inlet for providing the fluid sample which is fluidically connected to the micro-fluidic component; a lid attached to the fluidic substrate thereby at least partly covering the fluidic substrate and at least partly closing the micro-fluidic component; wherein the fluidic substrate is a glass fluidic substrate and wherein the lid is a microchip. The present disclosure also relates to a method for fabricating a fluid analysis device. The method comprises providing a fluidic substrate; providing a lid; attaching the lid to the fluidic substrate to close the fluidic substrate at least partly.

Compact glass-based fluid analysis device and method to fabricate

The disclosure provides methods and systems for analyzing fluid samples comprising obtaining fluid samples in at least one cavity of a substrate and introducing also buffers and/or reagents in the cavity, performing nucleic acid extraction and/or purification in the cavity, and performing nucleic acid amplification in the same cavity.

Combined extraction and PCR systems

A fluidic device is described for locally coating an inner surface of a fluidic channel. The fluidic device comprises a first, a second and a third fluidic channel intersecting at a common junction. The first fluidic channel is connectable to a coating fluid reservoir and the third fluidic channel is connectable to a sample fluid reservoir. The fluidic device further comprises a fluid control means configured for creating a fluidic flow path for a coating fluid at the common junction such that, when coating, a coating fluid propagates from the first to the second fluidic channel via the common junction without propagating into the third fluidic channel. A corresponding method for coating and for sensing also has been disclosed.

A microfluidic device for electrically activating a passive capillary stop valve, an apparatus and method are provided. The microfluidic device includes a first channel for containing a first fluid, and an output channel, wherein the first channel comprises a first interface with the output channel, and the first interface comprises a capillary stop valve characterised in that the microfluidic device also comprises a second channel for containing a second fluid, wherein the second channel comprises a second interface with the output channel, and the first channel and the second channel are electrically isolated from each other, and the first interface and the second interface are arranged relative to each other thereby being configured to activate fluid flow from the first channel into the output channel when a first fluid and a second fluid are present, and an electrical potential difference is applied between the first fluid and the second fluid.

Microfluidic device for electrically activated passive capillary stop valve

A micro-fluidic device is described. The micro-fluidic device includes a semiconductor substrate; at least one micro-reactor in the semiconductor substrate; one or more micro-fluidic channels in the semiconductor substrate, connected to the at least one micro-reactor; a cover layer bonded to the semiconductor substrate for sealing the one or more micro-fluidic channels; and at least one through-substrate trench surrounding the at least one micro-reactor and the one or more micro-fluidic channels.

Method and device for thermal insulation of micro-reactors

The present disclosure relates to a fluid analysis device which comprises a sensing device for analyzing a fluid sample, the sensing device comprising a micro-fluidic component for propagating the fluid sample and a microchip configured for sensing the fluid sample in the micro-fluidic component; a sealed fluid compartment containing a further fluid, the compartment being fluid-tight connected to the sensing device and adapted for providing the further fluid to the micro-fluidic component when the sealed fluid compartment is opened; and an inlet for providing the fluid sample to the micro-fluidic component. Further, the present disclosure relates to a method for sensing a fluid sample using the fluid analysis device.

Provided is a DNA chip with micro-channel for DNA analysis, which has a structure in which a silicon layer (chip A) and a plastic layer (chip B) are laminated, wherein the chip A includes at least two PCR reactors connected in series in a micro-channel, and a filter between the PCR reactors, the chip B includes a reagent, a liquid delivery mechanism and a sensor in a micro-channel, and the reagent, liquid delivery mechanism and sensor can be changed according to a kind of an analyte and an object to be detected.

DNA chip with micro-channel for DNA analysis

An example micro-fluidic device includes a micro-fluidic channel having an inner surface and a plurality of pillars positioned along the inner surface. The device further includes a plurality of power supplies connected to the pillars. Another example micro-fluidic device includes a micro-fluidic channel having an inner surface and a plurality of pillars positioned along the inner surface. The device further includes a power supply. The pillars are grouped into at least two groups of pillars, each group of pillars including at least two pillars, and all pillars of at least one group of pillars are connected to the power supply. In another example, a sensing system for detecting bioparticles includes a micro-fluidic device, wherein a surface of each pillar comprises functionalized plasmonic nanoparticles or functionalized SERS nanoparticles, a radiation source for radiating the micro-fluidic device, and a detector for detecting SERS signals or surface plasmon resonance.

Electric controlled micro-fluidic device

In order to solve the problem of the generation of the interspace between layers, the present invention provides an actuator including: a conductive polymer layer; an ambient temperature molten salt layer; and an opposite electrode layer; wherein the ambient temperature molten salt layer is interposed between the conductive polymer layer and the opposite electrode layer, the ambient temperature molten salt layer includes an adhesive layer in the inside thereof; one surface of the adhesive layer adheres to the conductive polymer layer; and the other surface of the adhesive layer adheres to the opposite electrode layer.

A DNA chip with micro-channel for DNA analysis of DNA included in an analyte according to a PCR method is a DNA chip with micro-channel for DNA analysis in which is silicon (first layer) and plastic (second layer) are laminated, wherein the second layer is formed on a partial area of the first layer, and the second layer includes: a reagent; a liquid transporting system; and a sensor, and the first layer includes a PCR reactor provided on an area on which the second layer is not formed.

The embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a micro-fluidic device comprising a substrate, a cavity in the substrate and a plurality of micro-pillar columns located inside the cavity. The micro-pillars columns are configured to create a capillary action when a fluid sample is provided in the cavity. A micro-fluidic channel is present between two 5 walls of any two adjacent micro-pillars in a same micro-pillar column. Each of the two walls comprises a sharp corner along the direction of a propagation path of the fluid sample in the micro-fluidic channel thereby forming a capillary stop valve. A notch provided in a sidewall of the cavity acts as a capillary stop valve.

Microstructured micropillar arrays for controllable filling of a capillary pump

The present disclosure is related to a device for cooling the surface of a semiconductor device such as an integrated circuit or the like, the cooling device comprising a plurality of channels () which are non-parallel to the surface to be cooled, each channel comprising a plurality of separate electrodes () or equivalent conducting areas arranged along the length of each channel, the device further comprising or being connectable to means for applying a voltage to the electrodes or conducting areas in each channel according to a sequence, the sequence being such that a droplet () of cooling liquid in a channel may be moved from one electrode to the next, thereby transporting the droplet from the top of the channel to the bottom, from where the droplet impinges on the surface to be cooled.
