A rubber compound for body ply skim comprising: —a mix of rubber consisting of (i) Epoxidized Natural Rubber acting as polymer base with a cross-linkable unsaturated chain; (ii) Natural Rubber acting as polymer base with a cross-linkable unsaturated chain; (iii) Polyepihalohydrin rubber, —a filler material, and—a vulcanization system; The compound comprises: 70 to 90 phr of said Polyepihalohydrin rubber; 5 to 25 phr of said Epoxidized Natural Rubber (E-NR); and 5 to 25 phr of said Natural Rubber (NR); the phr ratio between E-NR and NR ranging from 0.2 to 5.0.

Compound for body ply skim

Body ply skim compound comprising a cross-linkable unsaturated chain polymer base, a filler material, a vulcanization system and a polyepihalohydrin rubber. The compound comprises epoxidized natural rubber as a cross-linkable unsaturated chain polymer base and a laminated structure material as a filler material.

Body ply skim compound

A tire portion selected from the group including an innerliner, tread ply skim, TBR body ply skim, bead reinforcing skim, undertread, tie gum, squeegee, folded edge gum strip, belt edge gum strip and tread ply insert, and made from a compound including a polymer base and curing agents. The compound also includes a carbohydrate having 2 to 30 repetitive, possibly substituted, units.

Tyre portions highly impermeable to oxygen

A method of producing colored tire portions, the method including: a step of forming a highly impermeable barrier layer; and a step of depositing a dye or colored layer on the barrier layer. The step of forming the barrier layer includes, in sequence, the operations of (a) depositing an aqueous dispersion on the part of the tire for coloring; (b) separating said aqueous dispersion into an aqueous phase and a solid phase; and (c) removing the aqueous phase.
