The present invention provides a transgenic corn event MON87460, and cells, seeds, and plants comprising DNA diagnostic for the corn event. The invention also provides compositions comprising nucleotide sequences that are diagnostic for MON87460 in a sample, methods for detecting the presence of MON87460 event polynucleotides in a sample, and probes and primers for use in detecting nucleotide sequences that are diagnostic for the presence of MON87460 in a sample. The present invention also provides methods of breeding with MON87460 to produce water deficit tolerance corn plants.

Corn plant event MON87460 and compositions and methods for detection thereof

This invention provides recombinant DNA constructs, transgenic plant nuclei and cells with such recombinant DNA construct for expression of proteins that are useful for imparting enhanced agronomic trait(s) to transgenic crop plants. This invention also provides transgenic plants and progeny seed comprising the transgenic plant cells where the plants are selected for having an enhanced trait selected from the group of traits consisting of enhanced water use efficiency, enhanced cold tolerance, increased yield, enhanced nitrogen use efficiency, enhanced seed protein and enhanced seed oil. Also disclosed are methods for manufacturing transgenic seed and plants with enhanced traits.

Transgenic plants with enhanced agronomic traits

This disclosure provides transgenic plants having enhanced traits such as increased yield, enhanced nitrogen use efficiency and enhanced drought tolerance; propagules, progeny and field crops of such transgenic plants; and methods of making and using such transgenic plants. This disclosure also provides methods of producing hybrid seed from such transgenic plants, growing such seed and selecting progeny plants with enhanced traits. Also disclosed are transgenic plants with altered phenotypes which are useful for screening and selecting transgenic events for the desired enhanced trait.

The present invention provides transgenic plants transformed with novel DNA constructs comprising promoter sequences useful for driving the expression of heterologous DNA sequences. Such promoter sequences include promoters hydroxyproline-rich glycoprotein promoters. Also included in the invention are plant cells and seeds produced by the transgenic plants that comprise the novel DNA sequences.
