The invention relates to a method for cephalometric imaging using an apparatus () which comprises an X-ray source (), a line detector camera () equipped with a digital detector, which line detector camera is located to a position far away from the X-ray source () for carrying out cephalometric imaging while the slot of the line detector camera is substantially vertical. In cephalometric imaging, an X-ray beam () located substantially on the vertical plane is directed from the X-ray source () through the object being imaged, and the X-ray source () is at the same time turned about the rotation center () located between the X-ray source and the line detector camera () in order to scan the object being imaged in the horizontal direction, whereby the line detector camera () is moved during the scanning movement in such a way that the ray beam () meets the slot () of the line detector camera. In the method, the effective focal spot is transferred from the rotation center () to the focal spot of the X-ray source () by transferring the rotation center by means of a transverse linear movement (A) with respect to the ray beam ().

Method and apparatus for cephalometric imaging

This publication discloses a method and apparatus for measuring hydrometeors. According to the method, the mechanical impulses of hydrometers falling on a detection surface are measured. According to the invention, part of the measuring device () is used to perform a continuous measurement, in order to define a threshold value for an impulse and only after the threshold value is exceeded is the final part () of the measuring apparatus excited for measuring operations, in order to minimize the power consumption of the apparatus.

Method and device for hydrometeor detection

The invention relates to a method for imaging the head area by using a line detector camera ( ) equipped with a digital detector, at which camera is directed an X-ray beam ( ) through the object being imaged. Method for cephalometric imaging

The invention relates to a method for the automatic adjustment of exposure parameters in an imaging apparatus operating on linear tomographic principles and intended for the slice imaging of the region of denture and temporomandibular joints. The method includes a stage for measuring a radiation (8) transmitted through the skull and for adjusting exposure parameters on the basis of the measuring result. According to the invention, a first imaging sequence, at the start of which the exposure parameters are adjusted, is commenced from such a direction (11a, 11b) that the passage of radiation is secured through thick skull portions and that a subsequent imaging sequence in a direction (12-17) other than the previous direction is carried out by varying the exposure parameters programmatically by a predetermined deviation or by effecting the automatic adjustment of exposure parameters on the basis of new measuring results, whose starting parameters have been obtained by varying the exposure parameters programmatically by a predetermined deviation.

Method for the automatic adjustment of exposure parameters in an imaging

The invention relates to a method for localizing cross-sectional X-ray images (6) taken from a given part of the dental arch, said imaging being effected with a panoramic X-ray apparatus which is provided with a patient supporting mechanism (1) and software for imaging the jaw in the transverse direction. The method includes a step of imaging cross-sections (6) on the same film as a respective longitudinal image (5) of the dental arch, and the cross-sectional images (6) are exposed to include identifications (A, B, C) for the sections, said identifications being also exposed on the longitudinal image (5) in alignment with the cross-sections along which the images are taken.
