A stent removal device for removing or repositioning a stent from within a lumen is provided. The stent typically comprises at least one element arranged circumferentially about the stent. The stent removal device includes a tube positioned within the lumen proximate to the stent, wherein the tube is capable of receiving at least a portion of the stent. The stent removal device also includes a pusher positioned within the tube capable of engaging the stent and/or the element. The stent removal device further includes a hook positioned within the tube and including a hook member capable of engaging the element such that force applied to the hook causes the stent to purse string.

Stent removal and repositioning device and associated method

A delivery device for positioning and deploying an implantable device within a lumen is provided. The delivery device includes inner and outer tubular members slidable to each other between at least a first hold position and a second release position, a handle and a deployment mechanism adapted for an operator to use a first hand for operating the delivery device and moving the tubular members between the first and second positions. The delivery device further includes a protective member adapted for insulating at least a portion of the outer tubular member from the tendency of the operator to use his or her second hand to grab the outer tubular member during operations or from other external forces.

A removable stent for placement within a lumen is provided. The stent includes a scaffolding of struts formed from a tube of memory material and having a proximal end, a distal end, and an interior region. The stent includes at least two flexible elements independently secured to the scaffolding and spaced circumferentially from one another. Each element defines an engageable member such that an inwardly directed force applied to the engageable members reduces a diameter of the scaffolding.
