The present invention provides a catalyst product comprising of (a) porous acidic clay material and (b) binder and matrix to shape the catalyst to either microspheres, pellet, tablet, extrudate and ring and suitable for enhancing the crack-ability of heavy feed material derived from atmospheric and vacuum distillation bottoms; FCC bottoms, coker bottoms and hydrocracker bottoms. The invention particularly relates to a catalyst cum heat supply product suitable for thermal coking process either in a batch mode or continuous coking process.

The present invention relates to a Cracking Catalyst composition for cracking of heavy hydrocarbon feed stocks and process for preparing the catalyst. The catalyst is prepared by incorporating 1-10 wt % phosphate treated USY zeolite in which phosphate is present in the range of 10 to 50 wt % on the basis of phosphated zeolite, in a mixture of 10-50 wt % dispersible alumina, 0-30 wt % non-dispersal alumina, 5-30 wt % colloidal silica, 15-50 wt % clay and 5-15 wt % phosphate.

The invention relates to a CO oxidation promoter additive and a method of its preparation. The CO oxidation promoter additive is having improved apparent bulk density and attrition properties for use in hydrocarbon conversion during fluid catalytic cracking. The present invention provides a catalyst composition for use in a catalytic cracking process, said catalyst composition comprises 3.5 to 15.5% of pentasil zeolite, 9 to 40% of ultra-stable Y (USY) or rare earth exchanged USY (REUSY) zeolite, 3.5 to 15% of large pore active matrix based bottom up gradation component and 0.3 to 3% of a metal trap component, the percentage being based on weight of the catalyst composition. The present invention provides a process and a system for coking and simultaneous upgrading of a heavy hydrocarbon feedstock. More particularly the present invention relates to a process of cracking heavy hydrocarbon feedstock employing high heat carrier, incorporated with weak acid sites for improving the liquid yield and reducing coke yield. The feedstock is vaporized and brought in contact with a heat carrier material to produce a product stream and separating the product stream from the particulate heat carrier, regeneration of the particulate heat carrier to the extent of 10-30% and collecting a gaseous and liquid product from the product stream.

Disclosed herein is an improved fluidized catalytic cracking process for converting normally liquid hydrocarbon feedstock with simultaneous reduction of sulfur content in the liquid products obtained therefrom which comprises carrying out the cracking process in the presence of carbon monoxide gas as a reducing agent. The process optionally includes a step of premixing the hydrocarbon feedstock with carbon monoxide gas causing major sulfur reduction before effecting the cracking. The premixing is done in a specified nozzle assembly linked to the FCC unit.

An apparatus for catalytic cracking of feedstock includes a first channel in which a feedstock is treated with an adsorbent to obtain a treated intermediate. The apparatus further comprises a separator-reactor vessel. The separator-reactor vessel includes an adsorbent separating region to remove the adsorbent from the treated intermediate. The separator-reactor vessel further includes a second channel connected to the adsorbent separating region. The treated intermediate is contacted with a catalyst in the second channel to produce a cracking yield. The second channel terminates in a catalyst separating region of the separator-reactor vessel. The catalyst is removed from the cracking yield in the catalyst separating region. The separator-reactor vessel further includes a physical partition disposed between the adsorbent separating region and the catalyst separating region to separate the two regions.

Method and apparatus for catalytic cracking

According to this invention, there is provided a process and apparatus for catalytic cracking of various petroleum based heavy feed stocks in the presence of solid zeolite catalyst and high pore size acidic components for selective bottom cracking and mixtures thereof, in multiple riser type continuously circulating fluidized bed reactors operated at different severities to produce high yield of middle distillates, in the range of 50&#x2013;65 wt % of fresh feed.
