The invention is a cleaning device comprising of a shaft. The shaft has a hollow section and a lower end with a rim. The rim defines an opening at the bottom end of the shaft. The opening is located about the longitudinal axis and is in communication with the hollow section. The shaft also has one or more apertures that extend through the side of the shaft and are in communication with said hollow section. The shaft also has one or more slits that maybe in communication with the one or more apertures. The slit(s) run parallel to the longitudinal axis and may terminate before reaching the rim. The cleaning device is designed in such a way to easily allow a user to employ any flexible fabric or other suitable material in the cleaning device.

Multilayer shaped articles, including films, preforms and containers, and method for forming the same, having at least one layer of poly(1,3-propylene 2,6-naphthalate) and at least one layer of poly(ethylene terephthalate). Poly(1,3-propylene 2,6-naphthalate) can be co-stretched with poly(ethylene terephthalate) to form oriented multilayer structures which have superior barrier properties. The poly(1,3-propylene 2,6-naphthalate) and poly(ethylene terephthalate) layers have good adhesion and do not require an adhesive tie layer.

A melt-mixed blend of thermoplastic polyester and grafted fluoropolymer having polar functionality exhibits good mechanical properties and is useful in articles for transport and containment of fuels and as a component of laminates, such as fuel hose.

A flexible, thermoplastic, blow moldable composition which comprises a substantially homogeneous blend of A) about 40-60 wt. % polyamide, B) about 20-58 wt. % of a first ethylene copolymer selected from the group consisting of copolymers of ethylene and at least one alpha, beta ethylenically-unsaturated carboxylic acid having 3-8 carbon atoms, and ionomers of said ethylene copolymers, C) about 1-20 wt. % of a second ethylene copolymer having interpolymerized units of ethylene and 1-10 wt. % of an alpha, beta ethylenically-unsaturated aliphatic epoxide, and D) 0.1-0.6 wt. % fibrillatable polytetrafluoroethylene or fibrillatable modified polytetrafluoroethylene.

Blow moldable thermoplastic polyamide composition

Melt fabrication, with precompounding, of a plurality of thermoplastic resins, is provided by use of a screw having a dispersion section in such machines as injection molding machines. The minor resin component can be an elastomer, which toughens the resin's major component. This effect is improved by increasing back pressure on the screw used in the injection molding machine, to extend the screw rotation and thus shear time accomplished by the dispersion section.

Foam molding is carried out with a melt blend of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), ethylene copolymer elastomer, and glass fibers in the presence of blowing agent and with a cold mold, so that the resultant foamed article has an amorphous-rich PET surface and a crystalline PET core.

The compositions consist essentially of a semicrystalline polyamide, a selected ionomeric toughening agent, and an anhydride-rich ethylene copolymer.

In the instant invention, improved blow moldable polyarylate compositions which yield molded objects having substantially uniform wall thickness throughout are provided by the addition of a small amount of a fibrillatable fluoropolymer resin.
