A device for suppressing very fast transients, applicable in protecting electric and/or electric power equipment, and especially transformers operating in electric power substations and in wind power plants, connected in a supply network circuit downstream of a circuit breaker and upstream of the protected equipment is disclosed. The device is a component of an induction character, comprising a high-frequency magnetic core arranged around the current-conducting lead. On the magnetic core is wound at least one winding with at least one pair of terminals used for connecting at least one damping resistor. The inventive device contains an insulating body in which there is a magnetic core, a damping resistor and a winding, or an insulating body in which there is a magnetic core together with a damping resistor, a winding and a section of a current-conducting lead.

Very fast transient suppressing device

A switch disconnector is disclosed. The switch disconnector has a main contact point and an arc interruption contact point, of which the main contact point opens before the arc interruption contact point during a disconnection operation and is closed after the arc interruption contact point during connection, with a stationary and a moving contact-piece arrangement, with the stationary contact-piece arrangement having a pot contact piece with contact fingers and with the moving main contact point having a contact cylinder which is connected to a contact mount, and with the arc interruption point having a contact pin as the stationary contact piece and an annular contact piece as the moving contact piece. The contact pin has a section composed of interruption-resistant material, whose external diameter is greater than the external diameter of the rest of the pin area. The contact pin has at least one slot which runs in the longitudinal direction and splits the pin into at least two pin fingers.

Switch disconnector

A load disconnecting circuit is disclosed with a housing that has a first housing section, which houses the drive, and has a second housing section, which houses a fixed contact element and a longitudinally extended moving contact element. The second housing section has a longitudinal extension adapted to the moving contact element. Field-control rings are placed on the second housing section while encircling it, of which the first are arranged in the vicinity of the fixed contact element and the second are arranged in the vicinity of the switch-off position of the moving contact element. Via a respective connection conductor, the first field-control ring is connected to the potential of the fixed contact element, and the second field-control ring is connected to the potential of the moving contact element when in its switch-off position.

A fuse has a fuse element ( ) with a fusible conductor ( ) of a conductor material ( ) such as Ag, Cu or Al and is provided with doping points ( ) following one another at regular intervals. The doping points ( ) weaken the fusible conductor by lowering the melting point to below 250&deg; C., so that arc formation rapidly occurs there when there are short-circuit currents, although its electrical resistance per unit of length is under some circumstances only a few percent greater than in the remaining region. The fusible conductor ( ) bears a continuous layer of a burn-up material ( ). It has an ignition temperature which is preferably lower than the melting point of the first compound ( ).
