A conveying device for conveying crop material from a pick-up mechanism to a baler comprises a conveying channel having a base comprising an upstream base part and a downstream base part. The downstream end of the upstream base part is supported on a pair of first resilient mounting members and the upstream end of the downstream base part is supported on a pair of second resilient support members. The first and second resilient support members, in response to the force with which crop material is being urged by the feed rotor against the upstream and downstream base parts exceeding respective first and second predefined values, yield. This results in downward displacement of the upstream base part and the downstream base part to permit crop material to pass through the conveying channel.

Coupling apparatus for coupling a mower to a front three-point linkage of a tractor includes a mounting element for coupling to the three-point linkage and a carrier element to which the mower is coupled. A linkage mechanism including upper link members and a lower link member couples the carrier element to the mounting element. The lower link member is pivotally coupled to the mounting element about a first lower pivot axis. A pair of take-up springs act between the lower link member and the mounting element to take up a portion of the weight of the mower. The take-up springs are coupled between corresponding anchor elements and corresponding anchor brackets on the lower link member. The anchor elements are carried on respective compensating arms, which in turn are pivotal on pivot shafts carried on the mounting element. Actuator arms acting between the lower link member and the compensating arms urge the anchor element upwardly and downwardly as the carrier element moves upwardly and downwardly for controlling the turning moment induced by the take-up springs in the linkage mechanism, in order to maintain the effective weight of the mower bearing on the ground substantially constant.

A combined baler/bale wrapper () comprises a baler () mounted on a chassis () and a bale wrapper () mounted on the chassis () rearwardly of the baler () for wrapping a bale formed by the baler (). The bale wrapper () comprises a pair of first and second bale support rollers () for supporting and rotating the bale about a first wrapping axis (). A pair of wrapping film dispensers () are carried on a carrier ring () which is rotated about a second wrapping axis () for dispensing wrapping film onto the bale () as the bale () is being rotated by the first and second bale support rollers (). The first bale support roller () is carried on a transfer element () so that as the transfer element () is pivoted about a transfer pivot axis () from a first state to a second state for transferring the bale () onto the bale wrapper () the first bale support roller () is urged in a downwardly direction (F) in order to maximise the headroom available to the bale () as the bale () is being transferred by the transfer element () to the bale wrapper ().

Bale wrapper and a combined baler/bale wrapper

A combined baler/bale wrapper () comprises a chassis () on which a baler () and a bale wrapper () are mounted. The baler () comprises a stationary segment (), a lower segment () and an upper segment () which together define a bale forming chamber () within which a round bale () is formed. The lower segment () and the upper segment () are pivotal from a bale forming position (FIG.) to a discharge position (FIG.) for transferring a bale of the bale forming chamber () onto bale supporting rollers () of the bale wrapper (). The bale supporting rollers () rotate the bale () about a first wrapping axis () while a carrier ring () simultaneously revolves a pair of wrapping material dispensers () about a second wrapping axis () for dispensing wrapping material onto the bale ().

Combined baler/bale wrapper

A combined baler/bale wrapper () comprises a chassis () on which a baler () and a bale wrapper () are mounted. The baler () comprises a stationary segment (), a lower segment () and an upper segment () all of which carry bale forming rollers () which define a bale forming chamber () within which a round bale () is formed. The lower segment () and the upper segment () are pivotal about first and second pivot axes (), respectively from a bale forming position (FIG.) to a discharge position (FIG.) for transferring a bale upwardly rearwardly from of the bale forming chamber () directly onto first and second bale supporting rollers () of the bale wrapper (). The bale supporting rollers () rotate the bale () about a first wrapping axis () while a carrier ring () simultaneously revolves a pair of wrapping material dispensers () about a second horizontal wrapping axis () for dispensing wrapping material onto the bale () for wrapping thereof. The combined baler/bale wrapper is efficient, compact and of minimum length.
